I recall Tom Waits (Tom Fucking Waits!) was on 'The Tube' and they chopped off the end of him performing 'In The Neighborhood'. I felt a righteous sense of outrage at the time. I think I still do.

I was in the USA when this came out. It was everywhere and seemed to appeal to their sense of the epic. No doubt the guy could sing, but just give me some nuance, eh? Even Freddie did that.

I hate to say this, but I also think a massive problem is that the USA is not even nearly ready to elect a female President, and the Dems put up two against him. Clinton may have had her own problems, but Harris didn't. 'Progressive' is not an easy word to use in the circumstances.
