🧵Timeline of the Cambodia and Thailand border clash:

1863: Cambodia sought France’s protection via colonization
1867: Thailand agrees to let Cambodia go in exchange for large parts of Western Cambodian lands.
1893: France and Thailand fought each other

Cornrows originated in Africa. Some of the most detailed depictions of them come from the ancient Nok culture in Nigeria and ancient Southeast Asian cultures like the ancient Chams (in Vietnam) and Khmers (in Cambodia). History is not boring!

Dear all,

Helen passed away at 13:21 local time. Helen would not have wanted us to be sad for a long time. All they wanted was to be remembered. They looked forward to being rid of pain and to being at rest. Helen took great comfort in you, their friends and readers.

Loving my new lens. One of Tamron’s best lenses for portraits, landscapes, and street photography.

One of my favorite photos I took of the red rocks at Garden of the Gods, Colorado

I try not to overedit my landscape photographs. People often feel disappointed when they visit these places because photographers tend to overedit their pictures. This day at Georgetown, Colorado, was gloomy and foggy. I wanted to preserve that drizzling feeling.

Beautiful Colorado rocks, hills, valleys, and mountains.

Cryptostegia grandiflora aka rubber vine is native to Madagascar. The flower is often a light purple color.

I love Nikon lenses.

The West suck at period dramas
I'm surprised that there's not more film/tv that treats people in the past, especially feudal and ancient eras, as recognizable modern characters.

House of Flying Daggers is fun because the main characters are basically beat cops. Name of the Rose is two monks that are really just noir detectives.

These are the 8x12 original photographs I printed from Nations Photo Lab. A lot of photographers were right about the sharpness on the computer vs on print. You always gotta test print out your photos before you officially hang, sell, and show them. I need to make more adjustments.

I printed two 8x10 photographs of mine from Nations Photo Lab. I picked luster because I’m not a fan of glossy paper. These were printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Paper. I’m impressed with the results.

D.C. is an underrated city but most of the pictures you see are the government buildings.

Scent of the day: Rose du Désert EDPE by Houbigant

This opens up with a mildly musky, spicy amber and patchouli. I don’t smell much rose in here. It’s faint, which makes the fragrance smell like lipstick; a spicy, cinnamony lipstick. The dry down is mostly amber and vanilla.

I got a Jo Malone diffuser because it lasts longer than the candle. Just 1 or 2 sticks is enough to cover the room. It smells gorgeous. I love peonies.

Scent of the day: Quelques Fleurs L'Original EDP by Houbigant

Many reviewers kept saying this smelt like a bouquet of flowers but I mostly smell a fresh, moderately powdery iris and white flowers with a touch of Chanel No. 5. It smells like a vintage face powder from the 80s.

Why does Zendaya look better in a suit than Melania?

Melania fell into the trap her male politicians did: making suits too tight. Zendaya looks better in it because the shoulder length is wider allowing her arms to not get caught. The shoulders hang nicely down her arms

Scent of the day: Quelques Fleurs Jardin Secret Extrait de Parfum by Houbigant

It opens up with a rich, warm, dewy, and smooth citrus followed by a musky rose and white flowers. It has a watery translucent quality to it. It reminds me of Chanel’s Eau Tendre but higher quality.
