Did you know there are various types of RNAs on leaf surfaces of corn plants grown in the field? The host RNAs are secreted on the leaf surface and they coexist with the microbiome. @rnasociety.bsky.social #RNA30 #RNA #exRNA

Congratulations Dr. Jones 💐💐
a great thrill and a great honor- thanks to all the great people who've passed through my lab over the last >30 years, and for the friendship and "mutual potentiation" of my co-honorees Jeff Dangl and Brian Staskawicz!
TSL is thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievement of @jonathandgjones.bsky.social, now a 2025 Wolf Prize Laureate in Agriculture along with Jeffery Dangl and Brian Staskawicz "for groundbreaking discoveries of the immune system and disease resistance in plants"

What an outstanding study! This majorly expands our understanding by showing that glycosylated RBPs are not only present but also organized into specialized clusters. New avenues for cellular communication and therapeutic delivery strategies! Many congratulations @raflynn5.bsky.social and team.

Very happy to start the new year with publication of our new work on leaf surface RNA. Plant leaves secrete diverse RNAs that are surprisingly stable on their surfaces. Next question to answer: What do they do? www.pnas.org/doi/epub/10....
