heads up that bluesky doesnt show posts from other languages by default on your timeline, and its cutting you off from a lot of the community
go to bsky.app/settings/lan... and deselect any language from this setting, or else you might not see any of the new japanese users at all!

Also a few big pieces of advice for artists starting or returning to Bluesky:
-Hashtags really do help with your spread; you’re not penalized for using them
-You can say commission without penalty too and put links in the initial post; there’s no algorithm

If your complaint of blusky is mainly that its "boring" compared to Twitter then I strongly suggest u rlly think about all the time u waste endlessly scrolling thru so much bullshit on that site. Please learn to not always be on social media 24/7.

Everyone's dropping tips for people making the switch to Bsky but I'll drop a tip that applies to artists moving to any new platform:
Don't be embarrassed about your older art, and treat them like a backlog! You don't have to start completely fresh by only posting newer art.

Some bluesky tips I've learned so far for new artists that are joining! Go to "Settings > moderation > advanced" to enable how you can view moderated content on your feed, and "Languages > Content Languages > Select Languages" to make sure all options are unchecked to see posts in every language!
