Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.

Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.

@chrismurphyct.bsky.social: They're out there saying 'we just passed a bill to eliminate taxes on tips & taxes on SS benefits.' NONE of that's in the bill. But they deny that they're cutting Medicaid. So they want credit for popular stuff that isn't in the bill but ignore the deeply unpopular stuff.

While we are busy watching and rewatching Vamp treat people like sh!t, Kentucky’s legislature is drafting a bill that creates a state version of DOGE (HCR 50 / SB 257).

If this concerns you, call 1-800-372-7181 and leave a message for your state legislators.

While we are caught up in the parade of horrors in the Oval Office, Kentucky’s legislature is working to allow cities to be sued for having a fairness ordinance (HB 177 / SB 60).

If this concerns you, call 1-800-372-7181 and leave a message for your Kentucky state representative.

A bill cleared a Kentucky Senate committee that would let people sue government & individuals for being compelled to act in contradiction to their religious beliefs. Critics say it could destroy local anti-discrimination ordinances in a deluge of lawsuits. From @sylviaruthg.lpm.org #kyga25

A last-minute committee sub to a bill that's about to be heard in a Kentucky House committee appears to now require the Beshear administration to submit a Medicaid work requirement waiver to the Trump administration. The earlier version of the bill only allowed them to submit a waiver. #kyga25

Government efficiency is when every federal agency has to send a daily emergency email to its workers telling them to ignore another daily email from a different department trying to fire them without knowing what their jobs are.

I served the people, not the president as US Attorney. That's the oath. That's the job. That's why you don't put people who haven't worked at the Justice Department in charge of the Department, or people who haven't worked at the FBI in charge of the FBI.

For most folks, democracy is local.

So get out and run for office.

The people are demanding change. Don’t just wonder when that change will happen.

Be that change.
It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

If I had a band or a label, I would do a punk cover of "No More Kings" from Schoolhouse Rock. And then I would gather a bunch of people to write a whole album of next-generation Schoolhouse Rock songs, with songs about Social Security and Medicaid and NOAA. I am not kidding in the least.
