A. Santos|🇧🇷|20|; B2B midfielder, 5'11, consistent pivot player, really good positioning, relishes the dirty work in the middle, has a knack for interceptions, passing range getting more expansive, needs a +1 to be UCL ready. City should be keeping tabs on him.

Khusanov will help relieve minutes from Ake, Akanji and Dias - they all need to reach full recovery.

The defensive masterclass shift Ruben Dias put in yesterday has to be talked about, very little got past him. He singlehandedly kept City in the game.

When he's in the middle of the pack the difference is always clear.

Nikola Milenković for £12m, the smartest / cheapest buying decision Forest made in the summer to bolster their defence — a tall athletic bully & physical duelist at the heart of the defence. the fella has been mad consistent so far. a diamond amongst men.

This was by far Man City's best game in a long time — Grealish increased our physicality levels; De Bruyne upped our creativity/output levels; Doku ensured repetitive intensity. All round confidence restored and this is just the starting point. Ortega resurgence btw; genio
December 4, 2024 at 9:44 PM
Only 4 players were impressive today; Ortega, Dias, Ake & Doku

A slight glimpse of intensity but City were never going to win at Anfield. Big statement from Ortega to keep the score low.

The youth core of Lille are one of the most exciting teams to watch in Ligue 1 alongside Monaco

Ayyoub Bouaddi, Lucas Chavalier and especially Bafode Diakité were impressive today against Montpellier despite the draw.

Pace, Power & Chaos the very kryptonite of the current City squad is what Liverpool embodies. Anfield has always been a tough ground even with a fully fit squad.

Limiting Salah, Gravenberch and Nunez to fewer chances is where the battle can be won if City are to get any result.

Matheus Cunha (25) has an exciting profile for a #9 and those are going extinct as the day passes

athletic & pacy, effective in the channels, shifty dribbler, playmaker & ball carrier and a self-sustaining goalscorer

a very very effective One-Man Army.
November 28, 2024 at 5:28 PM
Matheus Nunes has surprised me in a positive way, he's honestly the closest City get to an unpolished style-esque Kevin De Bruyne.

He should be a first choice in Pep's midfield reconstruction. Flawed but the energy, intensity & creativity he brings to the team is unmatched rn
November 28, 2024 at 8:52 AM
It should be pretty clear by now to everyone that whatever tactics City come up with, the personnel to execute it is pretty sub-par; our struggles will continue until we can raise our current floor of [players] / that means a fully fit squad + a no of specific additions as well
November 25, 2024 at 9:38 PM
Kevin De Bruyne's brief but influential cameo shows why City need to recruit an additional high quality volume creator. The best options available are Florian Wirtz & Alejandro Baena
November 25, 2024 at 3:56 PM
Man City's issue stems primarily from tactical approach and use of sub-par personnel to execute these tactics.

Too much space is afforded to the opposition to counter while there's a lack of pace and power to stop those moves on time.

The January transfer window couldn't come any sooner.

Q1. Which is more important during squad building; DEFENCE, MIDFIELD OR ATTACK

Q2. Which is more preferable?

A - Solid midfield & attack + weak defence

B - Solid defence & attack + weak midfield

C- Solid defence & midfield + weak attack
November 23, 2024 at 7:15 AM
Issues with the #6 persists at City with Kovacic now out so here are a few options to replace him

— Sub-optimal [Gundögan, Nunes & Bernardo]
— High risk [O'Reilly & J. Wright]

The more reason Pep needs to move to a double pivot, options available are a little below the required standard.

Guardiola contract extension is the best news to weather any further doubts.

It also means Pep accepts this season's challenge, City's squad rebuild begins with him & he gets to develop some incoming signings as plans for a successor begins.
OFFICIAL: Pep Guardiola has signed a new two-year #ManCity contract until 2027.
November 21, 2024 at 8:56 PM
Moving away from a single pivot to a double pivot should be Guardiola's next line of action; Kovacic & Gundögan have their limitations in both physicality and recovery pace. Spurs(A) is ideal to test the waters

City must always deal with quick counters with 2 or 3 players available in midfield.

Ange ball at Spurs reminds me of Leeds 2019/20 under Bielsa:

``high octane attacking; undone by individual errors, intense pressing, eye-catching underlying stats, dogma to change in tactics``

Both teams play the most exciting attacking football but their biggest flaw is always their defence.
November 17, 2024 at 8:08 AM
The general vibe on blue sky is actually fresh & peaceful, I love the absence of chaos here.
November 15, 2024 at 7:26 PM
City's LHS severely exposed & this primarily has to do with how we deploy our LB [IP & OOP] inevitably it is one of our biggest blackhole.

Of course, our injuries have made things look worse but the cracks have always been there.
