That an alcoholic weekend talk show host cosplaying the SecDef colossally screwed up, isn’t all that stunning.

What’s stunning is how republicans will ignore this dangerous breach of security because they’re too afraid to tell Donald Trump he was wrong about Pete Hegseth.

Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine.
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?

VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media

Canadian MP Charlie Angus: He choked.

The market started to tank, and suddenly, he said, “Oh, didn’t you guys already have a plan to deal with the border back in December? I love that—I’ll take that.”

This is Mr. Art of the Deal.

This is an amazing quote, from a Jan 6 prisoner who is refusing Trump’s pardon.

Hegseth is trying to be a smooth-talker today during his confirmation hearing…

But he’s sexist, against diversity in our armed forces, and is unqualified to serve as Secretary of Defense.

That’s the substance over style that the Senate must focus on.

Tammy Duckworth is just killing Hegseth.
Gets him to admit he has never done internationals security arrangements. Doesn't know what SecDef has to do on same.

She asks him to name ASEAN countries and significance of them. He names a bunch of countries that aren't part of ASEAN.

The Hegseth hearing is doing one thing incredibly well: it’s establishing that when his leadership at DoD fails, it’ll be clear that GOP Senators knew, excused it, and they own it. Serious concerns about experience & judgment are literally being laughed off.

In all likelihood, if you use public bathrooms, you have shared them with trans people plenty of times, and nothing has happened, and you haven’t even known, because you don’t interrogate people who are just trying to use the restroom in peace, which is as it should be.

I keep thinking about those congresspeople kneeling in the rotunda wearing kente cloth scarves, very performative. There has been no loud, visible, unified support for Sarah McBride from the democrats. It’s a real disgrace. That is your colleague! They are bullying her in your faces. And silence!

I left my NYC bubble to head into the belly of the beast (FL) to work at the Key West Film Festival this week.

Ignoring all MAGA content and focusing on the inclusivity of this town and the tranquility of the (blue) skies and turquoise waters.

Happy to be here, and happy to be *here*
