Disabled people should not be forced into institutions just because you don’t think they “deserve” housing and support.

Institutions cost the tax payer more money, but they also rob people of autonomy and control.

With adequate support we can retain our independence which helps us thrive.

“Some parents have already started the processes that are necessary to push for a Judicial Review. They feel that they are in a battle to protect their children, and they are in no mood to back down.”
Falkirk Council wants to take its current funding for 13 'Enhanced Provision' ASN units and "redistribute" it across all 47 schools in the area.

But can parents trust assurances from officials who can't or won't answer basic questions?

Can families trust Falkirk Council over ASN proposals?
The authority is consulting on hugely controversial proposals but has not provided detailed information about the consequences for families.

Life will expose 4 types of people........
1. The ones that cause your struggle
2. The ones that are entertained by your struggle
3. The ones that just watch you struggle
4. The ones that would do anything to help you through your struggle .

A council is proposing to close all of its Enhanced Provision ASN centres and send the pupils back to mainstream settings. They say the ASN resources will be redistributed across all primary schools.

But teachers have already hit out at the plans.

More common than is acceptable. There’s no data recording system to capture issues like this. The data isn’t accurate anyway. We wish this family success in an utterly stressful and unnecessary situation.
This is appalling from Glasgow City Council but it's far from unique. All over Scotland parents of children with ASN are being forced to either accept poorer treatment of their kids or get into a battle with their council.

Learning Disabled adults and their unpaid/primary carer's are being failed by the system, all over Scotland. It is harrowing to hear how bad it is, at the moment, from many carers flocking to social media groups for advice/support & just to tell their stories . #Abandoned .
