Today is Transgender Day of Visibility. Here in St. Louis city, in the 9th Ward, we want you to feel wanted, expected, loved and respected. No one can erase you as long as you refuse to be erased, though they will try. Now and always, we will stand with our transgender and nonbinary neighbors.

A severe storm is rolling into the St. Louis area. There will be strong winds ( gusts up to 70 mph), and a possibility of tornadoes and large hail. Please take necessary precautions by moving anything that could blow around indoors, and have a plan to take shelter away from doors and windows.

Water main break at Manchester and Vandeventer. Workers are on site. Please be advised that nearby apartments and businesses might be without water until midnight or even tomorrow.

Big thank you to our Water Division employees for working to resolve this.

The Keeley proposal for 4568 West Pine (former Boy Scouts building) has been withdrawn. This is bad news for the city, because we currently get $0 from this site since the Boy Scouts are a non-profit.

Had a great time with the @stlurbanists.bsky.social riding the #10 bus down Lindell Boulevard to Vandeventer and walking back down to Euclid Avenue. The goal of the Lindell redesign is to improve the street for all modes of transit, something these young advocates are very passionate about.

The City of St. Louis has an ordinance requiring sidewalk snow removal, but that hasn't prevented sidewalks from being hazardous or impassable for a big chunk of 2025.
Snow turns St. Louis sidewalks into hazards. Some hope to increase enforcement.

This month has been tough with the legislative schedule at the beginning, then the weather, so I will only have one office hour session this month. Join me for office hours on Monday, February 24th, 5 pm to 6 pm at the Fountain on Delmar to chat, ask questions, or just hang out.

New in 2025: a monthly policy newsletter from my office. My goal is to share more about our political landscape. All opinions are my own, but I aim to stick to facts and show my sources. My hope is that this might help readers understand our government better.

Community engagement dates have been set for Northpoint's development proposal near the prominent intersection of Kingshighway and 64/40.

This two apartment building project will be constructed in phases, one shortly after the other.

This exciting project is taking its next steps. Come learn about the plans for the Union/Lindell intersection on January 30th. I know I'll be there!

The city is aware that the lights are flashing red at the intersection of Highway 64/40 and Kingshighway. Proceed with caution or find another route.

DO NOT call 911. We are aware of the issue and are working with MODOT to get it fixed as soon as possible.

Incredible time at Forest Park Southeast’s annual Great Gathering. Friends, neighbors, visitors, community organizations, and local partners all came together to create a welcoming event with free food, beer, soda, water, live music, yard games and more. The people of FPSE make me proud to live here

Tonight we celebrate @STLTVChannel and honor the individuals who bring excellent programming (and the Board of Aldermen meetings) to St. Louisans. We really do have one of the best local access programs in the country.

Folks, I’m out and about in the ward this week and next. I’ll be at the following places at the following times. Stop by and say hello, ask a question, or share a concern. No appointment necessary.

I had the opportunity to tour the downtown firehouse a couple of weeks ago. It was great to talk with our firefighters and see pieces of history. You probably drive by this building and don’t even realize it’s there.
