"Not a proper Geordie"
Left-wing Right Back.
Frustrating watch from #NUFC today. Clearly miles better than Fulham, but a complacent start to the second half left us needing to up our game. Once we did we made Fulham look like they only had 10 men on the pitch. I feel like this could have been a much easier afternoon than it was.

Feeling pretty smug for calling this one correctly:
1/ Benfica didn't sit in.
2/ Lukebakio looked dangerous in the 1st half.
3/ Aursnes played left wing and right back.
4/ Silva kept every #NUFC player inside and missed the ball for the 1st Barnes goal.
1/ I see a few predicting Benfica will come to SJP at sit in against #NUFC. Having watched them a fair bit I think this is incorrect. Benfica are a side that can do it all, and are this way by necessity. Against smaller teams at home they're expected to dominate games, keep possession and breakdown

The way Howe talks about Bruno, wow! Right in the feels. #NUFC

Hate to start the season negative, but I'm not confident this #NUFC team gets anything today without a recognised striker. Hopefully a siege mentality and a bit of luck proves me wrong.

#NUFC spot on tactically. Man-marking with the ball at Raya's feet collapsing into a 5-4-1 low block has limited their chances while occasionally regaining possession high up. We also look dangerous every time we play through their press. Still super nervous though, I think one goal wins this.

The combination of no Isak; how poor Wilson has looked all season; 3 CBs; and away from home has me worried #NUFC won't be able to do much other than sit in a deep 5-4-1 and hold out for a 0-0.

The last 20-30 mins of this #NUFC game is begging for a Will Osula cameo. The energy he brings could cause chaos in the Chelsea back line.

My take on the #NUFC formation against Chelsea:
Botman at the back on his own, he's that good.
Dan Burn playing the Duncan Ferguson flick on role up front with Murphy/Barnes/Gordon/Isak running onto them.
Schar/Tino/Tonali/Bruno just being mint in between all that and controlling everything. 1-4-4-1

Thought #NUFC were the better side today, but shooting/crossing woeful. Isak looked so much better with Wilson close to him and Bruno-Tonali as a two central were great. Could have still lost it to a side that only created two chances all game though. Need to find a way to beat #BHFC next season.

This #NUFC game is jolly good fun.

Really looking forward to the first of #NUFC 's upcoming 10 game winning run.

It's been said before but Gordon's suspension is a huge opportunity for Barnes at #NUFC. The fact he's been picked over resurrecting the Joelington/Willock left side hopefully gives him the confidence boost to get back to his best and show he's a first team contender even after Gordon's return.

I haven't been hugely active here for a few weeks, mainly due to the return of #NUFC 's inconsistent performances & results. I'm not here for negativity and there's been too much of it about recently. Hopefully Howe & the lads will put in a performance tonight and roll that into Sunday. C'mon Toons!

#NUFC somehow both managed to make Forest look very ordinary and concede three goals to that very ordinary side, hugely frustrating and worrying.

Miley in for Tonali makes sense to me: good technically; tactically disciplined; high work rate; and can cover the 6 if Bruno pushes on. Also glad to see Pope back, we don't play possession football enough to make Dub's ball playing abilities outweigh his weaker shot-stopping in my opinion. #NUFC

Arteta's tears after another loss to #NUFC:

That was a tactical masterclass from Howe. Fielding an extra CB then using them to mark an opposition midfielder, alongside Tonali man marking Ødegaard killed their play from the back. That same CB dropping back in to make a 5 when defending deep then reduced the gaps to be found. Perfect from #NUFC

It would be hilarious if #NUFC "put 2, 3 or 4" past Arsenal tonight. Can only imagine comments like that have got the backs of our lot up.

Miggy leaves #NUFC and takes a piece of my heart with him.

For some reason that I can't put my finger on I'm nervous about #NUFC today. Thankfully I'm wrong surprisingly often!

Don't get the clamour for #NUFC to sell Kelly. Of 5 CBs in the squad (6 inc Krafth) only Kelly & Botman are <30. Burn/Schär/Lascelles/Krafth/Tripps will need replacing soonish while also trying to buy a backup striker & starting RW. Kelly could be backup LCB season after next with Howe improvements.
