To celebrate the 8th night of Hanukkah, we adorned some homemade latkes with caviar, crème fraîche, and lox, and paired it with sparking rosé

Flashing one back on turn 18 and literally stacking your deck is nuts.

The value of the second one is debatable. Probably worth running the second FoI without AK, but not if you’re playing AK.

On the board 🏆 with Premodern Stiflenought🦐

Added an extra land compared to stock lists, trimmed a Flash of Insight, moved some other things around to season the list to my tastes.

It was expensive to get this deck in all old border, so I hope these 11 chests have the nuts!

Lots of them, particularly the old frame printings

Thanks! I’m looking forward to the journey

1-4 quiet oath

1-6 in Premodern tonight.

After years of basically just playing formats where I have expertise, it’s cool wading into a format where my lack of experience shows so clearly.

I’m excited to keep learning the format and watch myself improve 💪

Some people use Magic Online to chase MOCS invites. Others use it for high-stakes testing. Some just want to play leagues in their underwear.

I use it to set new personal records in Goatbots “suggested card swaps.”

Hey! Probably not tbh, as neither min nor i have the free time necessary.

Nevilshute and Eureka have been doing well with essentially the Doomsday list you’re describing. It’s a good plan, and looks like there’s a few decks out there that can effectively leverage this angle

🏆 Another one, so the deck gets a name: UB Tamishow

(I put the decklist in the alt text this time)

Using the "Tempo Reanimator" deck building philosophy and instantly 5-0'd with this Tempo S&T deck. I don't think my exact card choices are optimal, but the archetype felt very good.

You also get cute synergies of using Ancient Tomb to crack a Clue and stuff like that.

You too!

In my last eternal weekend, my goals were:

- to avoid “brainfart” mistakes like saying okay to a spell I meant to counter, or walking into an on-board trick.

- to treat my opponents in such a way that they’re happy to have met and played against me
November 11, 2025 at 6:38 PM
Also, remember that you’re not the tournament protagonist, and neither is your opponent. Neither player “deserves” to win, regardless of play skill, matchup, good topdecks, or whatever.

What everyone deserves is to be treated with respect, and to treat their opponents with respect in kind.
November 11, 2025 at 6:36 PM
In a 1000 player tournament, there’s 1 winner and 999 people who didn’t win. Because of this, it’s really important to separate your goals from your tournament record, and recognize that playing well, on its own, isn’t sufficient for a good result. On a given day, lots of good players go 0-2 or 0-3.

Same. I played some arena cubes because my account is just sitting there with gems anyway, and it made me so grateful for MTGO

Riftbound seems interesting but I don’t even have the bandwidth to play Premodern, let alone learn and acquire cards for another game 😕
