I saw an early screening of an upcoming anime film, and I was like, "the music in this in great," and the credits rolled and it was Kenji Kawai, and I was like, "makes sense."
I pooled money with friends to buy a rare, overpriced DVD of a film featuring one of Kenji Kawai’s earliest soundtracks, and I was like, “the music in this is great,” and then I remembered why we bought it in the first place, and I was like, “makes sense.”
I was watching The Red Spectacles, and I was like, “the music in this is great,” and then the director's Q&A mentioned it was Kenji Kawai, and I was like, “makes sense.”

I don't think there's ever been a more atmospheric anime film than Patlabor 2.

Nice, a bunch of Katsushito Ishii films (including Redline!) getting screenings. Bummer there's no Taste of Tea, though.

Considering how musical-averse I am, I liked this way more than I thought I might.
Wataru Takahashi’s “The Obsessed” is messy, musical and as weird as it is warmhearted.

It's hard to keep up with all the classic anime being rereleased in Japan right now. Patlabor 1 and 2, Perfect Blue, Angel's Egg, Ghost in the Shell, Memories, some Eva stuff... anything else?

I’m glad it’s finally cool enough to walk around in Tokyo. I just bumped into two people I know then saw a cat riding shotgun in a taxi.

The Seasons: Not so much “about” the dolmens in Alentejo, Portugal as “around” them. Dreamy, nice film cinematography, but a bit unfocused. Liked the old folks reminiscing and wish there’d been more of that.
