Sounds like Barnsley will be the first town run entirely by vendor presales.

This time last year, I hoped to see signs that AI was generating real utility for customers. A year on, what does the data - including from Microsoft & Salesforce - tell me?

"We Love Ugly Data!" is back for 2026, with myself & Alan discussing industry vertical pain and the volume of paper involved, how everyone in automation is chasing a tiny bit of remaining IT budget and how IM pros can stay relevant in AI projects. It's packed.

We're back for 2026 and first up on the blog post front is Alan; "The Demand for Hyper-Specificity and the Persistent Paper Elephant", discussing the need for tightly focused technological fixes and the weight of paper still dominating business processes

It was the Salesforce Q3 FY26 earnings announcement a day or so back, so it's time to have a look at what we can learn about Agentforce from the new data (and referring back to previous quarters commentary for context)
As it was Salesforce's Q2 FY26 earnings call last night, just though I'd look and see how the commentary on Agentforce might have sounding compared to previous quarters (see quoted thread for Q1FY26).
Benioff stated on the call "We've done 7000 or 8000 Agentforce deals, I think we have 4000 paid Agentforce customers. There's $100,000,000 in Agentforce ARR." He went on to say "We've got 800 customers already in production with Agentforce".

Anatomy of an AI story;

Headline: well that sounds cool
Paragraph 5: oh, well I'm sure the tool helped too, right?
Paragraph 14: no, it's a pre-emptive tool, so couldn't have helped in this case at all, wtf?

Our anecdata suggests that business app projects are getting smaller and are largely not including bundled AI features in their scopes. This doesn't sound great news to us, but does it match up to what you're seeing?

Peter Kyle - UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade - seems to have zero clue that "exploring research and knowledge" is the very root of the eventual high-tech entrepreneurism he wishes to encourage and does a massive disservice to students in doing so.
