State senator
The President should address the American people and apologize for illegally shutting down the SNAP program, cutting off food from 40+ million Americans.

Instead, he had a deputy assistant Secretary of Agriculture write a letter to states saying "oops!"

Reading about voting to kids in Cromwell... where we held a mock election and 🧁 won over 🍦! Grownups can vote in every town in Connecticut until 8pm tonight!

Somehow we have unlimited money to bail out the government of Argentina while the feds are cutting food for low-income US veterans.

Hundreds of thousands of Connecticut families are at-risk of losing their food assistance thanks to the cruel & reckless approach of the Trump Administration.

“I want to make sure the constitutional rights of everyone in Connecticut including U.S. citizens are protected,” [Lesser] said. “The federal government has a responsibility to enforce immigration laws. I respect that. I am concerned about overreach and infringement of constitutional rights.” 🧵

The President and the Republicans are shutting down the federal government for one reason only - to raise health insurance premiums on American families. Don't let them do it!

Angry about an Administration that believes they have the power to fire comedians who they don't like? Well Connecticut has the power to fight back.

I am asking Attorney General Tong to review the proposed merger of Nexstar and Tegna, reducing consumer access to news & public event programming in the Hartford-New Haven media market.

Nexstar gained national notoriety this week for its role in forcing the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel.

This is the dumbest decision I can think of. The project is 80% completed - stopping it now just deprives Connecticut residents of clean, affordable electric power and devastates our building trades and our economy for zero reason. The President may hate wind mills but he needs to get over it.

Hey, since Trump and Texas Governor Greg Abbott started this important national conversation, what do folks think about this possible map of Connecticut State Senate Districts?

It's more compact than our current map and it respects town boundaries and communities of interest.

Connecticut hospitals have received these subpoenas, a disgusting and illegal intrusion into the privacy of Connecticut families.

Tonight ICE deleted their defamatory tweet about Rep. Paris, who they falsely claimed had doxed their agents, subjecting him and his family to violent threats. But the underlying problem remains....

Our prescription drug law is making waves, covered in today's Hartford Courant.

Thank you Office of Governor Ned Lamont for signing our bipartisan prescription drug task force law today! It's the most aggressive law any state has ever passed on drug pricing and affordability! Connecticut is leading the nation!

This morning I wrote a letter to CT Children's CEO Jim Shmerling expressing serious concerns about enacting a discriminatory policy that cow-tows to Donald Trump and jeopardizes the safety of transgender youth in my district.

Here in Connecticut, we're working to ensure everyone has access to the mental health care they deserve. Senators @mattlesser.bsky.social and Cabrera were proud to join Governor Lamont and advocates on Thursday for a bill signing to strengthen mental health parity in our state.

So this is out of the box: Governor Lamont has signed my proposal to have Connecticut partner with a generic drug manufacturer to manufacture our own Ozempic.

Taxpayers are spending $150 million a year on that one drug - it's not affordable!

I am thrilled to lead Connecticut's bipartisan drug task force - that has now led to passage of a massive prescription drug reform package that will save you real money, and help the state save tax dollars as well.

Connecticut has long been a cash cow for the federal government. But now the federal administration is threatening to withhold funds we are legally entitled to - in defiance of court orders.

If they do, we should return the favor and stop collecting money for the feds.
