tbh the whole exercise of looking at the "state of music criticism" feels vastly secondary to the exercise of looking at the state of the potential audience for music criticism and the state of the monetization of the potential audience for music criticism etc etc......

My aunt just found this poem that my dad wrote about Abbie Hoffman in 1970 when he was a teenager. I can just imagine him in a black turtleneck, dramatically intoning "puts him in jail / no bail". This is bringing me a lot of comfort, and I can't even say exactly why.
