GOOD MORNING BLUESKY

I did something kinda interesting last night. I left my laptop at work so I would not be tempted to log in first thing in the morning

which means that it was really easy for me to work out and run before starting work today... and I FEEL GREAT

hope y'all are having a good day

just a reminder that if you scapegoat the scapegoaters, they don't stop scapegoating, you just now have people who are actively scapegoating, who also don't listen to anything you say

good morning Bluesky! what's up?

today is an amazing day for me, it's a piano lesson day. I have the best piano teacher ever - he's a classically trained pianist who went into jazz and tango and he knows both the classical rep and also all sorts of stuff about improv and composing.

i feel blessed

Good morning Bluesky! What are you up to?

Just had a piano lesson. Really fun. Working on some Bach.

I absolutely love Bach. So rich and soulful. Sone of my favorite music to play. So many layers!

What is happening for you today?

Happy Friday. Hope y'all had a good week!

I'd like to invite you to share an accomplishment or step or thing that happened this week, that you're proud of.

Good morning bluesky! What are you up to today?

Huge Marie Kondo Day for me today. Big workspace cleanup.

Sometimes you have to buckle down and start throwing out what no longer serves you.

Also - day 4 of daily planking - hooray!

good morning Bluesky! what's up today

I'm on day 3 of daily planking. it's easier than I thought once the routine is going... might expand it.

taking kiddo to a Scouting meeting tonight - ah, nostalgia. So many great childhood memories of camping trips + hikes in the Colorado Rockies. Good times.

Designing walkable cities increases social interaction and consequently may improve social support and social integration. Increase in social support and decrease in social isolation are good for public health.
“Loneliness and isolation can lead to: 29% increased risk of heart disease; 32% increased risk of stroke; 50% increased risk of developing dementia among older adults; and 60% increased risk of premature death.”

Surgeon General recommends designing cities to create more connections. #WalkableCities

"Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs". (NM)

good morning Bluesky! what's up today?

happy Monday! I decided to try front loading some planking (the exercise) 1st thing in the morning. it seems like the best way to build consistency might be to make it a morning routine.

I'll report back at the end of the week. Goal is 5/5 days M-F.

hooray!

🧵 1/n David Whyte is one of my favorite authors, an Anglo-Irish poet who straddles the boundary between poetry + prose.

In his 2014 book "Consolations", he explores deeper meanings behind a series of 52 common words.

Here is the intro to"Solace" (an appropriate choice, given his book's title)
