The Spurs didn’t sign Luke Kornet solely as ‘Wemby insurance,’ but for the next few weeks that’s what they’re getting. And it’s difficult to ask for a better situation under the circumstances.

“He’s a seamless fit for our organization...”

New CK:
Spurs getting their money's worth in Kornet
San Antonio's biggest offseason acquisition will have to play a pivotal role in the weeks to come with Victor Wembanyama hitting the shelf.

Spurs say Steph Castle is out for the rest of the game with a hip injury.

Three things for this afternoon!

1) No Vic means perimeter defense is going to have to contain penetration, guessing that means more Sochan too

2) We already expect usage from Fox and Castle, who's gonna be the third today?

3) Is "Vanilla" as good without the "French?"

So close, yet still so far away
On a tense, dramatic evening in San Antonio, the Spurs were outgunned by Steph Curry and the Warriors in what felt like a taste of playoff competition.

Julian Champagnie was questionable to play this morning, fwiw
November 15, 2025 at 4:41 AM
Three things to watch:

1) Can Castle stay out of foul trouble and contain Curry? Gonna need it

2) Spurs need a night from De'Aaron Fox

3) Almost a guarantee the Warriors are gonna throw something different at Victor defensively. How does he respond?

New pod is up!

Glad to be joined by @jaredweissnba.bsky.social for a winding convo (that didn't follow ANY sort of show outline) about the Wembanyama development plan, as well as how the rest of the young core is playing off his gravity (🎙️ @bleavnetwork.bsky.social):

ICYMI over CK last night: The Vic Show made a triumphant return.

Plus, welcome back Luke Kornet, Steph Castle keeps hitting singles, and De'Aaron Fox is still finding his rhythm:
The return of the Vic show
Victor Wembanyama scores 18 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter as the Spurs overcome a 12-point deficit to win on the road in Chicago.

Three things for tonight:

1) Playing with force: Spurs players/coaches spoke the other night about not having the road letdowns/lack of energy they did in Phoenix/LA.

2) Kornet returns! That’s 48 minutes of rim protection.

3) Limit turnovers, avoid “trap” game with Giddey out.
November 11, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Three things I'm watching tonight, btw:

1) How does De'Aaron Fox look and what changes schematically now that he's back?

2) Will defenses still sell out against Vic now that Fox is back?

3) This is the starting lineup they'd basically envisioned to start the season, good fits?
November 9, 2025 at 1:24 AM
Well then, halftime thoughts:

1) Where the hell did those final couple of minutes come from? Let's see if they can maintain after half

2) Wemby has made just two of his last 14 threes, gonna make life even harder for himself until he starts to hit

3) Gotta keep turnovers down

Hopped on a live last night to talk about Wemby’s struggles against these unorthodox defenses lately, and gave my take on WHO’S TO #BLAME!!

Pre-game thoughts:

1) Sochan back in time for Luka - curious to see how his bench minutes line up

2) Lakers are unlikely to defend Wemby the same way Phoenix did, but how quickly will he/Spurs be able to diagnose LA's gameplan? Didn't react well against Suns.

3) Will 3s fall?!
