Proud to announce TechConf.Directory, a directory of tech conferences around the globe.

I've found it quite difficult to find conferences. That is true no more!

I've made all the data fully open and available via a fully queryable API as well.

I'm experimenting with the SpeechSynthesisUtterance API and wondering who decided the world needed built-in browser text-to-speech with options like an Italian grandma's voice.

It's hilarious! Thank you!

Saying that a product "uses AI" is irrelevant on its own. It’s like advertising that an application is "flexbox-first".

As a user, I don't care about what you use under the hood. What matters is the value you deliver and the problems you solve for the end user.

There's something about HTML attribute types that I find very realistic. The selected attribute of the select option is... Boolean-ish!

It's like whatever. Relax!

That one time I used AI so I wouldn't look like an old man yelling at the clouds, and I ended up yelling at the clouds.

My small gtag.js package has no more issues (for now), and is gaining stars and npm downloads.
Kinda feels good!

Repetitive work is what led us to create libraries, frameworks, metaframeworks, CLIs, and all sorts of tools.
Don't always depend on AI for repetitive tasks; instead, abstract them and make them accessible to everyone.
That’s what fuels innovation.

Microsoft doesn't have enough electricity to install all the AI GPUs in its inventory.

@remix.run getting off of React is lovely, and its new approach with a deep understanding of web APIs is quite impressive, but I believe the main obstacle will be the very steep learning curve, which could be the biggest challenge for its adoption.

I just want to say that @solidjs.com it's really, really, really enjoyable to work with. 👏

I guess there's always a first time.
Never seen a "PAY TO REJECT" button in my life.

Shame!

Everyone is about to get an email from NPM about new security measures.

Please make sure it actually comes from NPM.

The lack of enthusiasm for AI coding from @ryansolid.bsky.social at the last @viteconf.org panel gave me unexpected hope for humanity.

It's time to share my hideous game.

We can still create random websites that are free, without cookies, no tracking, and no AI, designed to waste your time and make you curse whoever created the game.

That's what really matters.

Still true.
Between Zuckerberg's "beautiful projects and ethics" and Vercel's CEO's "excellent advertisement", I think React and Next.js are a tough choice these days.

I have to say, the rumor about a new EU regulation requiring browsers to provide options for a consistent cookie policy across websites is quite interesting.
