The last CrimeFest starts tomorrow! Sad to see it end - it is my favourite crime writing festival - but I am very excited for this weekend! Hope to see some of you there!
(If anyone is thinking about going to the quiz and would like a crazy Cornishman to join their team, feel free to DM me)

I sat in a café and worked on some of the novel today. It was the same café that I remember going to with a few friends from my MA back in March 2020. We planned on making it a regular thing (socialising but also workshopping our writing). Sadly that didn't happen for obvious reasons (plague).

Doctor Who is back! I’ve been struggling with my mental health lately and the best form of therapy - the best way to boost to my mood - is Doctor Who. You could say that I’ve been needing a Doctor 😂

After months waiting as the GP argued with the Community Mental Health Team about who should do what, I was finally told I could increase my mood stabiliser (Lamotrigine). Started on Friday - I've already felt it working (or it's the placebo effect). Might even be able to focus enough to write now!

After months of hints at what might be happening, tomorrow, the government will finally reveal their plans for the welfare system. It already feels like an attack on mental health, so I wrote a blog post about how I feel about it all. It may have turned into an essay. mattcoot.co.uk/news/f/there...

Joined the conga line and danced my way to Bluesky. Trying to rebuild connections and make some new friends. I'll be posting about writing and reading (mainly crime fiction), mental health (mainly BPD), geeky stuff (mainly Doctor Who), and some current affairs/politics (without being unpleasant).
