Looking back at the 2017-18 season when the first letter went out is kind of crazy. Nash, an impending UFA, was the oldest forward at 33. Next was David Desharnais at 31. Oldest Dman was Staal at 31, followed by Nick Holden at 30. Mac and Shatty under 30. That team really wasn't that old.

If we're thinking of who is "safe" with this, I'd say the core is Fox, Igor, Gavirkov and (I guess) Gabe. I don't see Mika and Miller going anywhere (he'd prob say Miller is a core guy, not Mika). After that? Feels like MAYBE Trocheck? Other than that, I don't see anyone else fitting that category.
