Honestly there probably would have been a bigger push for an Epstein Special Prosecutor in 2020 if not for that whole global pandemic thing.

This is what Trump's government thugs are willing to do in broad daylight, to a US Senator, with cameras on.

They are sending the message that anyone who disagrees with Trump isn't safe in America.

This is authoritarianism.

I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

Sanders: A woman is walking down the street, a car stops, and these guys — in plain clothes and masks — grab her, throw her into the car, and take off. That happened in Vermont today. That’s the kind of thing that happens in dictatorships, not in a democracy.

anyway calling these "war plans" when they were actually plans to blow up an apartment building full of civilians because the girlfriend of a guy we don't like lived there sounds more like "terrorism plans" or perhaps even more accurately "terrorism factory creation plans"

Shades of John Kerry voting for Iraq War funding before voting against it. How did that work out for him?
Fetterman, Cortez Masto, Durbin, Gillibrand, Hassan, Peters, Schatz, and Chuck Fucking Schumer ALL VOTED NO on the Continuing Resolution. They voted to let it pass—ostensibly because it was essential that it pass—AND THEN THEY FUCKING VOTED AGAINST IT.

Lt Gov Stratton seems to be lining up to challenge Durbin in 2026. She would be a serious challenger, especially with Gov Pritzker's support.
Democrats have a chance to stop this unconscionable submission to Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s impulses.

I join Governor Pritzker and strongly urge a no vote on the Continuing Resolution.

This week would be a very good time for an Illinois Democrat to announce their primary challenge to @durbin.senate.gov .

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

There are no good billionaires.
Bill Gates has liquidated his climate policy and advocacy organization, laying off dozens of staff in Washington, Brussels, and elsewhere.

It’s another giant retrenchment for the billionaire, who had already slashed his climate grant budget last month. heatmap.news/climate/brea...

It's literally not safe for tourists to visit the United States right now.

This German woman was put in solitary confinement for over a week and is still in custody.

How many other tourists is this happening to right now?
I've occasionally seen Europeans end up in this kind of situation when they cross from Mexico, but usually it's because they haven't followed the waiver process correctly to be entering from a land border. Sounds like this woman had all her docs straight and is somehow still in custody a month later
German tourist held indefinitely in San Diego area immigrant detention facility
The young woman had planned to spend a month with a friend in Los Angeles and then fly home to Berlin. But she’s been in federal custody since late January.

It's wild to me that @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and @schumer.senate.gov have been completely silent on Trump's corrupt deal with Eric Adams.

This literally puts their constituents in danger yet they say nothing because of some legacy political machinery?

If @axios.com will follow Trump's wishes on this then how can anyone trust the rest of their reporting? Will they run it all past the Trump team first for approval?
