Took a great pic of my cat. He looks tiny and fake but is 15lbs and the longest cat that's ever been with me. 55inch grill for measurement. 😄

Then we have Mr. Fluffy.

NOTE: They are only outside when I'm outside.

#NativePlants

I wish my phone took better pics but have to share these recent finds. The mullein is not native and will be removed.

A simple thing that brings a little happiness to my day is opening a door and having that annoying fly fly out on it's own while exclaiming "Yes!"

#nativeplants another native find but not a plant. This is a feather legged spider who took over a bucket I'm using to hold down tarp to smother ground. Neat guys.

wanted to do a post for people new to natives or new to property with an abundance of who knows what, because that's me. Don't worry about mowing the first or second year, especially if you have invasives that are not knotweed. Then grow out while identifying and pulling what is bad.

While not a plant, I did find it on goldenrod. I have never seen one of these before and it was amazing. Also, I did not pick it up, it flew into my finger so I brought it inside for a brief photoshoot then released. So neat. My pics and vid aren't great.

Is this an albino Dogane or Milkweed? Found a single reference online stating dogbane but I'm seeing conflicting information online.

ALso found this Dogbane Tiger Moth. There is a lot of dogbane here. #nativeplants

4 hours to mow an acre of the bumpiest old crops land while pole bending around 450 trees. Found some good stuff tho. Some soft rush, white grass, blue-eyed grass and a dog bane tiger moth. Also found a new area of Japanese knotweed. Marked it for a dig. Other grove is humongous. Remediation pending

Looking forward to spring, winter has been brutal with unusal low temps. Field will be hayed until 2027 then planted with natives. Could not get earlier funding. At least the hay is feeding the neighbors cows - we bartered - they mow/bale and take the bales for free. Win-Win.

Ever feel like you're being watched?

Jumper that lived with me last winter and released in the spring.

Tree appreciation. Willow Oaks in the summer and winter. When the sun hits them, it looks like they're on fire. Very neat.

I am renaming a cat purring to purrlin. I just said that to NMC (not my cat), 'I can hear you purrlin' as I scritched her head.

450 native trees planted on 1 acre today. Another 4 acres will be planned next year and probably will be planted in spring of 2026. Goal is a food forest of sorts and giving most of the fruits and nuts to the community.

I was with a friend walking through the streets of Baltimore when I got a small rock in my shoe and said the same to my friend. They said, "Shhh, don't tell anyone. They'll want one too." I don't know why but that has stuck with me for decades.

Backyard birds this morning. Only the second time I've experienced this and had to share. I think they are starlings. Sound is needed for the end. My videography skills are not the best and I couldn't stabilize my shaking.
