Good morning world. I took a moment to pause on my run this morning. Such awe inspiring scenes of gratitude when you look for them in the bustle of life.

Student quote of the week so far...I asked, "have you ever had a class like this?"

A few moments go by and a kid says, "No, because when you ask a question you want us to actually answer."

How did these colleges students make it this far and this is their first encounter. Better late than never.

“Mathematics is the queen of the sciences and number theory is the queen of mathematics.” -Carl Gauss.

I have to admit, number theory may be, if not my favorite, a close second favorite area of mathematical study. Any one else find they are agreeing with Gauss out there?

I love these kinds of surprises, when I pose a problem in passing to some students and then, after the end of the semester, I get proud declarations of the students work. Proof positive, creativity and collaboration, with a dash of technology makes mathematics accessible and beautiful.
