I have some new poems for the New Year! Three have been published by antonym journal, and they're all in my upcoming full-length by @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social! Here's the titular poem.

"I’ve deftly avoided the world /
for years now /
and now I’m ready to fling everything /
against the wall."

Happy anniversary (plus a week because I only vaguely remembered it happened in December) to my thread that led to me connecting with the amazing Sneza & RD at @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social. What an astounding, wonderful turn of events that turned out to be!
one of the RTed posts somewhere in this thread asked how others have done it outside of the $28 per shot open/contest readings. I'd love to hear ideas or in some amazing perfect world, a real conversation with a publisher about one or more of these to-be-books**.

But hey, for real, if anyone is interested in publishing a double set, I've long thought it'd be fun to do this and release the original book alongside the remix. Sorta loosely like Wilco's Being There but, y'know, cruddy Mitch poems. I'd 100% LOVE to do this, so, um, hey publishers?

There's a whole world of mostly Italian comics that were huge in Yugo and Italy and that's it. But Corto Maltese is known in the Anglo world. Enjoy!

Corto Maltese would be a good poet who works as a good bartende, lives down the street minding his own business

More media this week...it's my first review! I don't even know how to summarize and explain this, but my wife grew up in what is essentially America's first subdivision. They have a weekly sub newsletter. A neighborhood resident reviewed my book. This is very cool and a huge honor, for real.

Wait, there's only one poetry unit once in all of the high school curriculum? I didn't know that 😥

People who claim they don't like poetry, kinda like people who claim they don't like hip hop... If they get exposed to an artist or a poet, they say something like, "I don't like [insert an entire genre], but I like this." Turns out the genre is fine. They're just a bit prejudiced against it
