I grew up on the Kuskokwim, salmon fishing with my father. Buzzy and I raised our seven kids here and spent long summer days at fish camp. Fishing with family is where Alaskans learn life’s lessons, like how life is difficult here and we have to take care of each other to survive.

I see a future where Alaskans can grow up in Alaska, raise their families in Alaska, and watch their grandkids grow up in Alaska. No one from the Lower 48 is coming to save us, but I know there is no group of people more ready to save ourselves than Alaskans.

I’ll be the first to tell you this race won’t be easy, but it is winnable if we all do our part.
I was the first Democrat to win Alaska’s statewide House seat in 50 years because I reject Lower 48 partisanship and always put Alaska first.
