Today I set up @statamic.com 6, and rewired everything for Blade as the foundation of our new Starter Kit moving forward.

2026 is going to be a stellar year.

Filming this made my day.

Following on from @jbrooks.uk carry on about Marmite at @laracon.au 2023, it was great to offer 2025 speakers legit ridgy-didge Vegemite... and it even fooled Mr Brooks here.

So here you have it folks: proof that James likes Vegemite.
Hear from @jbrooks.uk how the Laravel team rebuilt Forge from the ground up to modernise its architecture and improve developer experience.

A great behind the scenes look at large scale Laravel engineering. 🎥👇

Feels like a Vesper Martini kinda night.

It's a turn up "Groundhog Day" and sing-a-long while working kinda day.

Needing all the feels.

Created an Image button for Flux's Editor component.

For this ultra-simple use case, images are stored inline as base64 encodes (given images are actually so rare for this use case), and a button to add/edit the alt attribute.

Swish!

So the getJSON call for Flux's `editor` component creates some caret issues due to Livewire's re-rendering.

But I really wanted to find a workaround... and based on Mario Hoyos' approach, transformed it in to a re-usable Blade component.

Gah I've done it again.

Clearly a late night reminder lacking critical words and context. Remember to cut what?

You mean I have to pick just one...?

Not here to start any fights... but... moving forward for my @statamic.com sites, I'm switching from Antlers to Blade.

And this post explains why.

I think there'll be a few more posts in me about Blade along the way... but what do you think?

Somehow my package can depart Denmark on Friday, travel to Germany, China then the Philippines, arriving in Sydney on Sunday... and then on Wednesday still not be in Adelaide.

Another was due Monday, but has been sitting at the depot.

Australian delivery partners really are the weakest link.

Love this... although I'd love some chocolate behind each door too.

In space, no one can hear you scream, but you can hear us say Ray lifetime licenses are back for a limited time starting NOW!

Don’t miss your chance to grab Ray at a stellar price, just in time for the upcoming release of Ray 3.0.

Oh I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the behaviour of patrons in cinemas is at an all-time low.

Abysmal what some think "acceptable public behaviour" is, especially when it selfishly disrupts others around them.

Yes, I'm the grumpy old man shaking his fist at clouds.

There’s a new program in town: you may have heard of BODYPUMP… get ready to welcome BODYPUMP HEAVY to the team.

Heavy weights, slow controlled movements, and insane supersets.

Just grunted my way through release 1, have the shakes, and have put my hand up to trial it in club soon! Fingers crossed.

Whelp... Github won't let me clone a repo. Means I can finish for the day?

Oh, it's only 7:24am.

I can’t say enough about how amazing, welcoming and incredible @laracon.au was. Thank you @dyrynda.au for allowing me the opportunity to be there! Already counting down the days until 2026!

Oh how I'd love for Apple's Passwords app to mature a little more so I could ditch 1Password... it's so flaky and dealing with their support is incredibly frustrating (and never gets issues resolved).

After a week away in BNE for @laracon.au, I've been at my dsk less than half an hour, and have already tagged a new release. Pretty sure that's what the Laravel team mean when they say "ship", right?

It’s time to Level Up at @laracon.au - if you see me, come and say hi! I’m around helping out backstage, supporting speakers, and sharing good vibes. Because the people is what makes a conference, and this place is full of incredible people. The best!

Wow, Laramap is really taking off. I never expected so many fellow developers to sign up. Thanks to this amazing community. Additionally, the first companies have reached out to support the project. Huge thanks to @ploi.io and Chief Tools.
