Maybe I would make a good parent...

I just scolded AI for being stupid and told it to "think about what it just did".

My add ons are ready for Statamic 6 - some may be a major version bump, others will work with their existing major version.

In case you missed it, @statamic.com 6 has been released this week.

And I think there are three standout features that will help improve the DX for devs, and the UX for content authors.

What do you think? What's your top feature in Statamic 6?

What better way to end a week than a painless update of a work-in-progress app to Livewire 4.

Even better with a still-passing test suite.

I've been teaching Les Mills classes for 18 years now, and BODYPUMP for 8 years. This week I started teaching BODYPUMP HEAVY: tempo-based weight lifting for strength and lean muscle.

The best bit: the music is drivingly brilliant, especially compared to the direction of the standard BODYPUMP music.

Hey @statamic.com devs - with v6 now in beta, and a launch coming soon, some of our addons will require a major version number bump.

Iconamic, Logger, Sticky Notes, Stripe Checkout, TinyMCE Cloud and Variable Number.

Others are v5/v6 compatible.

Check the docs for full details: docs.mity.com.au

Ever wanted to get stuck in to @statamic.com, but want to use your familiar Blade for templates?

You can... and it is easy to get yourself started!

You’ve heard of chia pudding… but what about chia jelly?

Made with fruit juice instead of coconut milk.

With goji berries, a diced strawberry (have you seen the size of them?), 3 blackberries, 3 raspberries, 1/3 white peach, macadamias and shaved coconut.

Ace breakfast for a 42 degree day.

So this is new… hoping to record the first one tomorrow…

Arts and crafts with my new IKEA MYGGBETT door sensors.

These used to be white.

But a can of spray paint helped me make them better blend with the sliding door frame, and still have a functioning button and LED alert.

Yep, there’s more wildlife.

Um… don’t want to sound like a stereotype, but a kangaroo literally just bounced past the front door. 🦘

Over 90 hours of playtime over 5 months, Death Standing 2 wrapped as did 2025.

Weird, a stellar soundtrack, and also dealing with some sensitively deep themes, I’m not ashamed to admit to wet eyes at several moments.

With most of its time set in Australia, it resonated a little more personally.

Whether it is your real family, your chosen family, or some quality alone time, I hope you’re spending your day filling up on good vibes, good food and excellent people.

Because surrounding yourself with excellent people is a must.

Today I set up @statamic.com 6, and rewired everything for Blade as the foundation of our new Starter Kit moving forward.

2026 is going to be a stellar year.

Filming this made my day.

Following on from @jbrooks.uk carry on about Marmite at @laracon.au 2023, it was great to offer 2025 speakers legit ridgy-didge Vegemite... and it even fooled Mr Brooks here.

So here you have it folks: proof that James likes Vegemite.
Hear from @jbrooks.uk how the Laravel team rebuilt Forge from the ground up to modernise its architecture and improve developer experience.

A great behind the scenes look at large scale Laravel engineering. 🎥👇

It's a turn up "Groundhog Day" and sing-a-long while working kinda day.

Needing all the feels.

Created an Image button for Flux's Editor component.

For this ultra-simple use case, images are stored inline as base64 encodes (given images are actually so rare for this use case), and a button to add/edit the alt attribute.

Swish!

So the getJSON call for Flux's `editor` component creates some caret issues due to Livewire's re-rendering.

But I really wanted to find a workaround... and based on Mario Hoyos' approach, transformed it in to a re-usable Blade component.

Gah I've done it again.

Clearly a late night reminder lacking critical words and context. Remember to cut what?

You mean I have to pick just one...?
December 8, 2025 at 5:06 AM
Not here to start any fights... but... moving forward for my @statamic.com sites, I'm switching from Antlers to Blade.

And this post explains why.

I think there'll be a few more posts in me about Blade along the way... but what do you think?
