So I’m in hospital because of acute appendicites. It has so far been an interesting, albeit somewhat painful, experience. Unfortunately however my only literary point of reference for what is happening to me is Solzjenitsyn’s ‘Cancer Ward’. Please advise. 💙📚 #BookSky

What an absolute gem of a book. The heat of Sicily and the tired desolation and joy of its inhabitants. The death scene is one of the most devastating ones I’ve read in a long time. #BookSky 💙📚

Ik lees voor het eerst iets van de (meen ik) grotendeels vergeten Simon Carmiggelt. De omstandigheden van zijn observaties en schetsen van kleine situaties uit het leven zijn soms wat ouderwets, maar niet minder raak, herkenbaar en geestig. En gewoon gratis: www.dbnl.org/tekst/carm00... #BookSky

“Maar ook de Taalunie zal bijspringen" daar werken welgeteld nog geen 30 mensen (mezelf incluis, en ik ga niet in Vlaanderen voor de klas staan dank u wel), dus dat zal de strijd niet gaan beslissen… erg benieuwd wat wij nu weer in onze maag krijgen gesplitst
