Y’all, it feels so nice just to be free to do my dang job! That’s all anyone ever wants. Empowerment to do their job.

There’s a blog post in here somewhere, but I’ve really enjoyed being children’s minister these last several months. More priests should give it a try! Children aren’t only for women, we agreed to catechism them in our ordination vows!

Read 14 books thus far this year. The “official” goal is always 12. But, the real goal is 16. Two more to go! 📚

A great article from Dr. Noble on wellness. As someone a year and a half into a health journey, it was a good reminder. readwise.io/reader/sh…
Wellness Cannot Save You | annotated by Michael
I recently had the treat of listening to my friend and fellow Keller Center fellow John Starke give a talk in which he mentioned that contemporary people tend to view wellness as a form of salvation or an alternative gospel.

I’m excited to say that I’m leaving a really stressful, dysfunctional place for a new role at a company with a great culture and efficient processes. After some time to decompress and refocus, I’ll start my new role at the end of the month. Excited to build and lead again!

After months of applying and interviewing, it feels great to delete LinkedIn from my phone.

I keep checking because I see the Waymo cars all over town. I don’t love the idea in general (would rather pay drivers). But, I do want to try it once for the excitement. 🤖 🚘

I did it. Facebook and Twitter are both gone. I don’t know why I waited so long. Removing the potential of something being over there, unknown, has removed a burden from my mind. — My friends & family have my number, know my blog, and see me in person. I’m missing nothing important.

I’m strongly considering completely deleting my Facebook and Twitter accounts. Algorithms that seek to “engage” and “enrage” counteract the peace and joy God directs me to in prayer and the study of scripture. — So, if civil war breaks out, would someone mind texting me and letting me know?

Despite having removed social media apps from the phone years ago and only accessing them via the desktop, I’ve realized I was still addicted. They’ve been blocked at the network level for 11 days now and I still find myself drawn to them.
