I wrote a blogpost for @uofgpolicy.bsky.social: UK Government going full steam ahead with AI but left the people behind. Ahead of the #SpringStatement, the Prime Minister & Chancellor claimed today AI makes substantial cuts to civil service ‘more than possible’. But this faith in AI is misplaced.
With cuts anticipated across government in the Chancellor’s Spring Statement, both the Prime Minister and Chancellor are claiming that AI will make cuts ‘more than possible’, but @markwong.bsky.social reflects that UK policy lags behind in developing responsible AI.
