My Frankenstein Mobster hit the cover of the 1st Vampirella magazine from Harris. And Frankie and Vampi teamed up for a cool story. Harris traded me the rights to use Vampirella in a Frankenstein Mobster story if I would paint this cover. That's how I came to write "The Ballad of Frankie & Vampi."

This new painting of mine is one small piece of a giant painting for a science fiction board game. I've been working on this since November. The game is in early play-testing. I really enjoy vintage space opera!

Art is long, life is short. I started this painting in 2023. It needed a revision and I worked on it for much of December and set it aside. I finished it with a touch-up today. The book this will cover might not be published until 2027. REH and a few of his creations.

My Saturday Sketch is a small pen & ink. The project required me to create an image of a stretched canvas of a painting "in the style of early NC Wyeth." Have a spectacular weekend!

Looking back, 2025 was a very productive year. Breathtaker returned to print. I painted Ultraman for the 1st time. I illustrated several Robert E. Howard books & multiple Edgar Rice Burroughs books. Designed my 1st cancellation stamp for USPS & the cover for William Messner-Loebs' auto-biography.

My new pen and ink piece of my Frankenstein Mobster. Projects take a long time. I've been working on this one for nearly 6 months and I expect it to take another 18 months. But just a teaser of what is to come.

A new project required me to create my own versions of some classic illustration art. This piece is from a painting Frank Schoonover did for the Outing Magazine in 1905. And now it is my Saturday Sketch for this week! Have a wonderful weekend and a Happy New Year!

For me, this photo is my proof that I've gotten to hang out with a lot of cool people, including Ray Harryhausen! This is a photo of the 1992 Inkpot winners. How many of these fine people can you name?
