A little bit political, a little bit ranty, tries to be funny, doesn't like raisins - centre left, Sci-fi nerd, Star Trek fan, Metal, or anything with a guitar, Welshman who lives in England - and yes I am in my 40's, married with 2 kids.

LGBTQ friend!
I'm super glad someone else sees what we see.

(1/2) First they came for the trans kids, said no, you cant transistion - ok, i think people are open to debate — now they want to “screen” them for autism and ADHD, as if being neurodivergent explains away gender identity - that's a concern - remember when Gay people were told it was mental illness

My son asked me last night for help with his Homework, he said "What do you know about Galileo?"

I said "All I know is, he's a poor boy, from a poor family"

Farmer fallacy logic that bugs me, "If I sell the farm you don't get fed" - if you sell that farm, what ever you made, would probably be absorbed by your competitors, other farmers. Farms are not all going to suddenly stop over night.

LINKEDIN is full of right wing business types hating everything right now. As a business owner for 10+ years You've really got to stop looking at these micro issues. Yes tax and wages have risen, but the fuck on with it. By winding yourself up, you're just being part of the issue.

Not sure this is an unpopular opinion - but It sounds like in certain circles i move in, Senior business leaders, recruiters, Teachers, NHS people - They all think Labour is doing a fair to alright job.

And I agree. All the noise i see is far right groups trying to undermine democracy.

The numpties are getting excited by this petition demanding a general election. Like nearly 2m people.

Ok, enough now, you are either being led by Russian bots - undermining our democracy (unsuccessfully) - or you're a reform voter.
November 25, 2024 at 10:26 AM
This petition going round asking for a general election, is hitting like 1.3m people now. It's the dumbest thing I've seen 1.3m people do since voting for Brexit. Do you not understand how parliamentary democracy works? It's always right wing people that don't get how democracy works.

Trump won by less than 2.5 million votes

Only 64% of voters turned out to vote

90 million adults didn’t vote

How history changes on a whim
Trump is slipping farther and farther below 50%. He now leads by only 1.6%—and his vote advantage is under 2.5M. One of the narrower victories of the last 100 years of American politics, and any journalist or politico using the term mandate probably needs to retire from their profession immediately.

I am a massive disbeliever that libertarianism is good for a country. Low tax small state isn't good. We see people vote against their good when it comes to things like healthcare, farming, social care, and education - Far-right libertarianism is a con. Sadly people wake up when it is too late

Something I love about this place.. no thirst traps being forced on my feed like Threads. Only thirst trap I need is good debate, a beautiful star ship, and intelligent people... Oh and lots of comedy. Apply within.

We need to separate farmers, and farming from Rich landowners using land not to pay tax. a £4m diary farm is much different from a £4m land Clarkson bought. But we are led to believe its the same fucking thing.

Don't forget people, Inflation in the UK hasn't risen because of the budget, that's not kicked in yet. It's risen because the UK economy is fucked. 0.1% growth. Untilies went up, and food increased too. That's not Labours fault.
