Pretty good murder mystery but takes a long time for the story to get going. Set in England during the time Napoleon is in exile on Elba. A man is killed and a strange man is seen shooting at the victim and again at children.

Interesting reimagining of the story of Peter Pan referred in the book as The Boy. Anyplace instead of Neverland. Really wished had used the names of Peter Pan and associated names but not too bad a book. Never read Peter Pan so not sure how measures up to the original. #Tigerheart #PeterDavid

Fast paced book that has mostly very short chapters. The presidents husband, the First Gentleman, is accused of a murder from 17 years ago. There are twists and turns that wasn’t what I expected. Love the short chapters. #TheFirstGentleman #BillClinton #JamesPatterson #thriller #mystery #politics

Fun children’s book that has nice illustrations. The book is about Miss Prim who is a little too uptight and likes everything orderly. She learns to love and appreciate nature. #MissPrimGoesWild #KatyRoseWriter #ThaiMyPhungIllustrator #childrensbook #waterbook #penguinrandomhouse

Excellent book starting with the Annapolis class of 1940. It covers their time at the Naval Academy and into WWII. This is a slice of the war focused on the USN and particularly the class of 1940. Pearl Harbor and major battles are mentioned some in more detail than others.

Interesting story written before WWII got going. The Lieutenant is in France with his soldiers. They can’t go back to England because of a soldier sickness. England and France has been devastated by nuclear weapons and most of what they have is falling apart.

Excellent followup to the first book Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen. It does take awhile to get going and really speeds up the last 150 pages or so. Who is Rosie? What happened to her mother? All will be revealed and the answers may surprise and shock you. #RosieFrostIceOnFire #GeriHalliwellHorner

Excellent biographies of Mel Brooks, Betty Friedan, Norman Mailer and Leonard Bernstein. As with some memoirs this is not a quick read and might feel repetitive at times, well worth reading. #EminentJews #DavidDenby #MelBrooks #BettyFriedan #NormanMailer #LeonardBerstein #biography #biographies

Very interesting and well illustrated comic anthology. Contains 4 separate stories about the titans: Abaddon, Behemoth, Tiamat and….Doug. All Titans are large and in the back have profiles except Doug which is mostly redacted. The art and coloring is excellent.

Okay ending. Peter Raeder is given command of the Invincible after the captain is injured from a Fibian attack. His mission is to track down the alien raiders and start hitting the enemy in their own territory. #TheIndependentCommand #JamesDoohan #SMStirling #sciencefiction #trilogy

This book has been banned most likely because of Maya Angelou account of being raped at 8 years old. Not a page turner but worth a read. Some parts I found dry and slow reading. #IKnowWhyTheCagedBirdSings #MayaAngelou #memoir #racism #rape

Excellent photos taken by Kenny Rogers. Some in color and some in black and white. Each has a story about each photo. Text is very large perhaps because of the large photos. Worth a quick read. #YourFriendsAndMine #KennyRogers #photography

Okay continuation of the first book but not as good. Peter Raeder has a choice to go to earth or lead a group to harry Mollie shipping. Still not as good as the first book and hopefully the last book in the trilogy is better. #ThePrivateer #jamesDoohan #smstirling #scific #sciencefiction

In both book and movie the Borden character is the villain, never the victim. All of the problems are caused by Borden. In the movie Borden kills the wife of Robert Angier. In the book Borden kills Angier’s child. It is Borden that causes all the problems and in the end results in multiple deaths.

Excellent memoir by Kenny Rogers covering his life and career which spanned decades and multiple genres. From Jazz to Folk to rock and pop to country and gospel music. Covers the ups and downs of his career and five marriages. #LuckOrSomethingLikeIt #KennyRogers #memoir #jazz #folk #rock #country

Interesting take on the brother Grimm fairy tales. Very slow to start. It would be best to have read the first book in the series. Clara doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to try and break the curse.

Set during WWII in London three peoples lives collide. Unlike anything Baldacci had written before. I recommend skipping the last three chapters and stopping at page 416.

Fun quick book that has many similarities to the Potter books. Almost too many. But the book is fun and entertaining by the end. Rosie has been sent to Heverbridge School after the sudden death of her mother. Rosie ends up in the Falcon Queen contest #RosieFrostAndTheFalconQueen #GeriHalliwellHorner

Interesting true story about the Mee family going together to buy a zoo. The movie of the same name doesn’t come close to what they had to do to buy the zoo and get it up and running. Very interesting in places.

Excellent story of Bloodshot from the Valiant comic universe. Bloodshot wakes up in a forest with no memory how he came to be there. A brother and sister there to film a movie find him and call for help.

Interesting thriller that is quite a web featuring many characters. The first ten chapters are very slow and the book didn’t get going until chapter eleven. I think the first ten chapters could have been cut out and the book would have been the better for it.

Very interesting thought exploring novel. An Apocalyptic novel where things change and nothing is the same again. The book revolves around brothers and one of their wife and autistic child.

science fiction time travel novel. Tony Miller barely escapes an island with his friend as a tsunami crashes over it eliminating everything. After flying away the plane stops and they land on another island where Tony finds an artifact that causes heavy gravity near it. The ending is a cliff hanger.

Starts out very slowly until it finally gets going and ends with a bang. Not sure if James Doohan really cowrote or if ghost written. Pete Raeder was an ace pilot until the loss of his right hand brought his flying days to an end.

Kenny Rogers was not only a pop and country singer he also loved photography and this book has many of his photos he took while traveling the United States. Interesting with a nice variety. All the photos in the book are black and white. #KennyRogers’America #KennyRogers #photography #landscapes
