Alliance for Felix Cove was gifted with a rainbow at a tule canoe launch ceremony yesterday at McNears Beach. Tule for the canoe was sustainably harvested from the fishing pond at McInnis Park.

Wetland restoration work begins at Chicken Ranch Beach in Tomales. Marin County Parks and the Tomales Bay Foundation are coordinating on the project, which is funded by the California State Coastal Conservancy, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Parks Measure A.

Staging and construction to replace two bridges on Wagon Wheel Trail in Cascade Canyon will begin the week of August 18. The new bridges will improve safety and the visitor experience—detour via Camp Tamarancho using the Blue Ridge Fire Road. Please respect closure signs for your safety.

As early as Thursday, Aug. 14, the Marin County Fire Department, in coordination with Marin Water, may implement a prescribed burn operation on the Mt. Tam Watershed along the northern side of Bon Tempe Lake. It may cover up to 64 acres. Dates subject to change based on weather and other conditions.

UPDATE: Bolinas Wye concrete pour takes place Thursday, June 5. Construction is ahead of schedule! Expect temporary delays in the Highway 1 cutoff to Bolinas on that day.

During the week of June 9, we will be pouring concrete for the new elevated roadway on the Bolinas Wye Wetlands Resiliency project. Expect temporary delays along Highway 1 near the turnoff into Bolinas, to allow cement trucks to back into the construction site.

So grateful to have these mountain lion experts at the Oakland Zoo.
On Sunday, @CDFW brought 3 orphaned mountain lion cubs to our vet hospital. The trio, estimated to be about 3 months old, were found in Portola Valley. CDFW believes the mother of the cubs is the same female that was killed by a car in the same area.
