Today, we honor and remember the 1.5 million lost in the Armenian Genocide. We mark April 24th as Remembrance Day because on this date in 1915, Ottoman authorities arrested & executed hundreds of Armenian intellectuals & leaders in Constantinople, beginning the systematic destruction of our people.

The Trump administration abruptly laid off the entire staff running a $4.1 billion program to help low-income households across the U.S. pay their heating and cooling bills.
Entire Staff Is Fired at LIHEAP
The move threatens to paralyze the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which helps to offset high utility bills for roughly 6.2 million people nationwide.

One of the public acts of this term that I’m most proud to see is Michigan’s hands-free law. By banning cell phone use while driving, we’ve seen accidents reduced and lives saved. Big thank you to my friend, @marimanoogian.bsky.social for her work on this and so glad this got across the finish line.
