ADHD Biology teacher. Nerdfighter. Trying to relearn how to make art after a twenty-year break. I read and listen to a lot of audio books. Sometimes I post about them. No DM’s without a really good reason. She/her
Dating men is so disappointing. The bar is underground.

I kinda hate how the gym makes me feel better. I was prepared to be grumpy. Sometimes my irritation is necessary for me to make the point effectively.

Toddler Grandbaby loves “Beep Beep Like a Sheep”. She’s going to be so confused when she starts to learn the animal sounds. I think maybe it’s the infectious tune and the fact she can say, “beep beep”.

Just finished the audio book Lock In by Scalzi. If you’re a fan of his more serious work, you’ll like this. Quite a bit more verisimilitude than his Old Man War books (which I also enjoyed) Intrigue and corporate crime fighting with a near future setting.

I went to the gym and then spent the day playing Hades 2. Self care? I guess.

This looks like so much fun
We can’t afford a $1M trailer slot 😔

But reposts on Bluesky cost $0 - and they really help tiny teams like ours ❤️

If cozy medieval creativity is your thing, here’s our Scriptorium trailer!

Christmas carols are more fun when I sing them ironically. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”

I asked off from work for the kickoff of project for awesome this year. Planning on filling up a whole new sketchbook with my nonsense this year

Playing Hades 2 a second time instead of either of the shiny new games I haven’t finished. The heart wants what it wants. I guess

Thankful for this little bean.

As a silly joke and commentary on high school relationships I told students early in my teaching career that my classroom was cursed and any time two students in the same class start dating, they break up before graduation. So far it has been true.

I finished A Wizards Guide to Defensive baking by T Kingfisher. It was good silly fun and I enjoyed it.

Therapy’s going to be a doozy today but I’m super lucky to have it scheduled and be able to afford it.

It’s almost never a bad idea to go to the gym about it.

A guy was trying to flirt with me through my art and told me he’d show me the best he could do, then sent me an Ai cartoon. Dude?! I don’t know what he expected…

I finished Automatic Noodle by Annalee Newitz. A short cozy science fiction story about robots making noodles and community. Some great themes surrounding connection and subtle (and a few overt) LGBTQ vibes. I enjoyed it a lot. In need of cozy at the moment.

I recently listened to Scalzi’s new book The Shattering Peace and enjoyed it a lot. Set after The Old Man’s War, it’s more serious than some of his other works. Don’t tell anybody but I think Scalzi might be romantic. I enjoy the straightforward romantic subplots of his novels so much.

If you’re a veteran, how would you prefer Veterans Day be aknowledged by your friends and family. Is, “thank you for your service,” good, or is it cringy and meaningless?

You can either have an effective sports bra or one that isn’t a workout to get on. Not both.

The newsletter asked for anglerfish and silly art is my anti-sad tool.

The world is falling apart and my small personal tragedy is ridiculously small and personal but my favorite handmade mug just broke and I have some extra sads that feel bigger than they have any right to.
