My mother died three weeks ago. The grief is just overwhelming sometimes and surprising too because our relationship was complicate. On top of that, this fucking bill and watching this country slide further into shit. I suppose I should be glad she is not alive for this.

I'm angry at the democrats that voted for this, but I'm also angry that millions of people didn't vote. I'm angry at U.S. and our apathy. We have, for so long, thought that none of what ails the world could possibly happen here. Only the most privileged could think they are above it all.

The semester is coming to an end so I've been frantically trying to catch up with my grading. One thing that makes this so difficult is the increasing amount of ideological bullshit. Students actually wrote that lesbians hate men and people are only gay because of childhood trauma.

The way Biden is treated in the media reminds me of how Carter was treated in his presidency and after his one term. The lack of historical memory in this country pisses me off almost as much as how easily we are manipulated.

The anxiety has just been overwhelming, especially at night and in the morning. The afternoon sucks too. Oh and the nightmares. So I'm sharing a picture of two of my fur babies snuggling.

What is the point of following the rules of democracy when we are about to drop into Fascism? People are going to die in large numbers.This I know to my core. So why are we doing this show of upholding an ideology that will very soon cease to exist? What is more important, ethics or people's lives?

Walking the perilous tightrope of just enough alcohol that I can sleep, at least for a few hours, with not too much that I'm a nasty bitch and miserable in the morning. I expect this will be a continuing issue for the next four year. Here's hoping my liver can handle it.
