Yesterday’s German Accelerator event was invaluable once again.

Early bird catches the worm: My day started at 4 a.m., I took the first morning flight to Munich and the last one back home, ending the day at 12:30 a.m.

From my perspective, contractions seem much more appropriate. FWIW, the German language prefers to emphasize the painful part — we call them “Wehen”, which stems from the word for pain.
2/2 That said, I was really surprised it's called labour – as if pregnancy itself wasn’t already hard work on the body. It almost implies that this is the only kind of work women are expected to be capable of.
