Strong Father Ted 'Lovely Girls competition' vibes in the search for Miss Oldham Rugby here.

Also, Tom Waite won New Faces in 1973, so the fact that's apparently still his biggest claim to fame 18 years later gives you some idea of how his career panned out.
Today in 1991: Oldham beat London Crusaders 16-10 in the Regal Trophy at Watersheddings. #RugbyLeague

If nothing else, this does feature some snazzy infographics.

So, there's that...
🗣 "If we can’t fill Wembley we’ve got to be realistic and accept that, and look elsewhere."

Good job rugby league isn't littered with a history of failed tie-ups with football clubs.

It never ceases to amaze me the random things which crop up from rugby league history. For example, who knew Alvin Stardust was club president of Mansfield Marksman?

I wonder if they ever did make it to Wembley for the 1985 Cup final? Wigan vs Hull, Peter Stirling, Brett Kenny, and all that

A mix of laughter and sadness on this week's podcast...
This week, we've somehow ended up with examples of the same car. Namely, the Vauxhall Calibra V6 2.5L.

Plus, we pay tribute to Quentin Wilson.

If Hull KR don't do a special WCC kit featuring a silhouette of Mark Broadhurst lamping Shane Bernardin then they're missing a trick.
Hull KR could bring out a special kit for the World Club Challenge, based on that they wore against Queensland, but it faces the risk of being nicked before getting here. #RugbyLeague

I've always felt the nine most terrifying words for anyone in British rugby league are: "I'm from the NRL, and I'm here to help."
🗣 "Yes, we could certainly have some great negotiations but we’re not here to negotiate, we’re here to help. That’s the difference."

💷 Peter V’landys says the NRL would never use the RFL’s World Cup debt as leverage – but it has to be repaid.
