That goal may look like a lazy effort by the leafs, but all I see is uncertainty in how to move. The main problem is that the players don't know what they need to do to win. Again, a systems/coaching problem. Not just one or a few guys.

The leafs did not stay the course on their vision, and this is the consequence of their foolishness. If only somebody within the organization or MLSE (not coach or GM) were to figure this out and demand changes to reorient this team in the right direction.

Here’s the thing about the leafs: I know for a fact that the players damn care a lot about what’s happening right now. I don’t buy for a second they don’t, not when being embarrassed almost every game. That means it is either a personnel or coaching problem. Definitely feels like the latter to me.

That ref needs to be at the very least fined half his salary for that boneheaded, dangerous decision. Fired might be for the best of the league. That could've been bad for Stolarz.

God, Nicky Robertson finally is slotting in well into the leafs lineup, and has linemates that can keep up with him and play a game that suits him… and NOW we trade him? Before his value goes up, even? Unless he is requesting this right now, I don’t see the point besides making the team worse.

I don’t think that kaprizov contract can possibly be worth it, even if he was the 3rd best player in the world.
