Former Met Carlos Baerga reported on the other place that the Mets have made an offer to Pete Alonso for 3 years, $90 million ($30 million AAV) with opt outs.
Not sure how much leverage Alonso’s camp has with the 1B market drying up so fast. Still, something to keep an eye on for sure.

I’m getting Arod vibes circa 2001 from this whole Juan Soto saga. Rodriguez’s persona took a hit after all was said and done that winter. Soto could risk the same.

I like the idea of a "golden at-bat" rule.
