Linux is cool: because in 15 minutes I can figure out how to display any information I need in the toolbar.

Linux is not cool: because after that I will spend hours troubleshooting a seemingly unrelated problem that appeared after my changes.

Don't make the same mistake as I did when buying a laptop for work. I was in a hurry to choose a machine for my girlfriend.

We bought a nice laptop but it had a fatal flaw - an OLED display. Goodbye battery life.

AWS released an update to its UI, but they did not address the fact that some pages can eat up 1.5GB+ of RAM. Not leaking memory - straight up using it from the start.

Going through CloudWatch logs is not only slow and clunky, but several tabs quickly add up to use up half of my memory.

Started to read Mitnick's 'Ghost in the Wires'

Refreshing so far. Hacking humans is not something we do very often, but it's something Kevin excels at. Reminds me of how exciting life can be.

Bluesky's response to "Invalid handle" problem is the most relatable thing. Not all problems are equal.

If tech products had to fix all issues immediately to avoid even the slightest discomfort for the customer, they would not be able to grow and evolve at a reasonable pace.

Compared to SQL, designing AWS DynamoDB schema feels... really hacky. But our company will be saving tons of money with the switch.

My only concern is having to one day migrate *from* Dynamo, because its definitely not plug-and-play with other NoSQL solutions.

As a remote developer, I dislike being interrupted so much that I have shifted my focused work to late evenings, when there is zero chance of being disturbed. My neurotic self is finally at peace.
