It may be distasteful but it is not illegal to mock someone's death and it should not warrant arrest, ever. The 1st Amendment exists specifically to protect disfavored speech and what is happening now is one of the greatest threats to free speech in the United States.

Yikes. As a #socialscience major in college, this pained me: "Black women account for 6.8 percent of bachelor’s degrees in the social sciences, 2% of bachelors degrees in #economics, and only 0.6 percent of doctoral degrees in economics"
Governor Cook and I authored an op-ed about the deeply unequal nature of #economics and SPECIFICALLY how it pushes Black women out. The fact that this piece is now coming full circle for Governor Cook herself is heartbreaking.
