The Voice of Hind Rajab: Devastating. Whatever your beliefs, if the killing of a 6 year old begging for her life doesn’t move you, there’s nothing more to say. Hearing her real voice, the terror and despair is unforgettable. Tragic, vital viewing.

Plainclothes: Set in 1990s NYC, an undercover cop targets gay men, then falls for one. Torn between duty and desire, this thriller turned romance / chase is riveting. Tom Blyth and Russell Tovey shine, while the clever direction exposes police targeting of gay men. So good!

The Rip: A throwback style thriller where you have dirty cops, drug cartels and a murder all wrapped up in a gritty Miami backdrop. Affleck and Damon were on great form, unintentionally funny. Fun watch...I want a dog that finds money!

Yes! Give Sinners all the recognition it deserves. A genre film getting this many nominations is just beautiful 🤩
‘SINNERS’ has broken history as the MOST-NOMINATED FILM OF ALL TIME at the Oscars with 16 nominations

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is absolutely brutal. A wholly different approach to a zombie movie and some sequences that will make you wince, feel invigorated and checking your moral stance. Ralph Fiennes is absolutely everything in this movie. Visceral viewing!

Hamnet: Imagines the loss of Shakespeare and Agnes son, inspiring him to write Hamlet. A captivating look at grief and loss, you feel every emotion, every anguish. Extraordinary storytelling and an ending that haunts the mind and lays bare the soul of grief. Mesmerising watch

Night of the Reaper nails the ’80s slasher vibe without overdoing it. Halloween-inspired but its own beast, it builds tension with mood and subtle scares. A fun, bloody throwback with smart twists and a strong finale. Even though it drifts in the middle it's a solid watch!

A chilled watch and somewhat political . A family man decides to secretly steal some paintings from a local museum but the heist, invariably goes wrong and so we get panic and despair rather than a traditional heist movie, set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War protests✌🏾

Caught Stealing: Down on his luck Austin Butler stumbles across drug dealing gangsters, things go wrong quickly and it's up to him to sort the mess. Solid watch, very entertaining, reminded me of Very Bad Things

Took a while to sort this, not that it's anything important however...my favourite films of 2025. As usual split them up into horror and on horror. They are in no order... enjoy... 1/3

Marty Supreme: Didn’t expect a table tennis movie to exhilarate me like this. Starts as a sports film, then mutates into a wild, nightmarish comedy drama. Timothée Chalamet is superb. A frenetic deconstruction of the American dream / post war hustle. Thrilling to the end!

The Housemaid: An intriguing thriller, with a twist that despite being somewhat obvious, is handled cleverly. Rich people being arses with an undertone of domestic violence and Amanda Seyfried doing much of the heavy lifting here. Nothing groundbreaking but brilliantly wild and unhinged

It Was Just An Accident: A moral paradox told through a story that despite some comedic moments is deeply unsettling. Simmering with real anger, how do you convey revenge, where does your moral compass sit? Those final 20 minutes are devastating, the ending...haunting

Alexander Ullom’s It Ends is a stripped down existential thriller: four college friends trapped on an endless road after a wrong turn, confront dread and each other. Gripping, tense and very much a metaphor on life. Waiting for Godot meets Endless. Superb! @letterboxd.social

Left Handed Girl is a moving tale of a mother and her two daughters facing economic struggle as they navigate life in Taipei. The youngest battles the “devil’s hand” stigma amid family secrets and patriarchy. Vivid colours and vibrant cinematography, punctuate this excellently crafted drama

Blue Moon: A dialogue-heavy film that feels like sitting in a ’40s bar, listening to a man talk about everything as he drinks himself toward ruin. Haunting, sad, and poetic, it unfolds like a play, single-set, monologue driven, beautifully timed, and elegantly written ✌🏾

Messy follows a neurotic, Woody Allen / Carrie Bradshaw type New Yorker stumbling through a parade of red flag dates. A chaotic coming of age story in reverse. The guys are awful, she needed more honest friends. Highlights the uglier, raw side of modern dating

Pillion is phenomenal storytelling. A vibrant queer coming of age story about self discovery, kink, and power. Skarsgsrd’s intensity, Melling’s vulnerability and their chemistry was electric. Funny, touching, layered and yes, go find yourself ✌🏾

Sisu: Road To Revenge is a cracking follow up to the first one! Loads of crazy action sequences, fights scenes and gore and clearly the makers have been playing Mario Kart 😝 Aatami Korpi and John Wick would be the ultimate duo!
November 28, 2025 at 10:34 AM
Good Fortune: a fun comedy about an incompetent angel (Keanu Reeves) does a Trading Places on Seth Rogan and Aziz Ansari. It Highlights that money isnt being everything in life, how the gig economy runs the world and those that gets rich off it are oblivious to it's plight! Enjoyably poignant

Train Dreams: A quiet, intimate and gentle film about time, loss, and purpose. Edgerton excels as a logger trying to build a life for his family. As landscapes change and time moves on, the film highlights how brief and fragile our lives really are. A truly exceptional movie ✌🏾
