That is astonishing.

For context, I whacked my foot off the bedpost getting ready for work on Friday and broke my little toe. (No, genuinely!).

Guy has been in hundreds of sprint finishes, numerous crashes, and didn't break anything? Incredible.
Alexander Kristoff said that he has retired now having never broken a bone during his career.

For a sprinter, that is astonishing.

Genuinely in a place where I'd rather we didn't qualify.

We are honking.

Greece should be out of sight.

Top teams at the World Cup will absolutely hammer us.

Remember when David Cameron suggested the choice was between him and 'chaos with Ed Miliband'?

Looks like we might belatedly find out what the latter looks like...

Have I got this right?

The BBC Director General has resigned because the US Government complained that the BBC had accurately reported President Trump explicitly encouraging the January 6 riots.

Has anyone seen a backbone anywhere? It appears the BBC (and the UK generally) has misplaced one.

While everyone can see just how corrupt this is, Gianni Infantino has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever... and give the FIFA Peace Prize to Joe Biden.

Students: I know this is the White House Press Secretary effectively saying that she doesn't need to support her argument with evidence, but if you do this, you will be marked down for it. That's just a fact.
LEAVITT: It's absolutely true that there's fraud in California's elections

Q: What's the evidence of that?

LEAVITT: It's just a fact

Things get you kicked off the UK line of monarchical succession:

Converting to Catholicism
Marrying a Catholic

Things that allow you to keep your place in the line:

Losing all your titles, residence and other royal status after allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking.

Why stop with one?

Time to 'strip' all of their unearned titles.

No Kings, Queens, Princes, Princesses, Dukes, Duchesses or anything else.

Its 2025 FFS.

Polling a year after an election tells us nothing about what will happen in the next one (unless its next week or something).

Still, remarkable that two 'minor' parties are first and second, and the two 'parties of government' are third and fourth.

In a FPTP electoral system.

Bonkers.

I'm really not sure how democracy can function (or if it can) when significant actors lie with such impunity and there is no consequence for doing so.

This is a provable lie. Numerous US citizens have been detained.
Kristi Noem: "No American citizens have been arrested or detained. We focus on those who are here illegally. And anything you would hear or report that would be different than that is simply not true and false reporting."

Yes, waking up to news that the US is restarting tests for nuclear weapons is definitely what I needed today, thanks for asking.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Massive change for next year's Holyrood election: there'll be no overnight count. Votes to be counted on the Friday instead.

There's academic smarts, there's intellectual smarts, and there's Joe Marler knowing the entire script of Celebrity Traitors but unable to get a team of useless detectives to believe him.

Scenes.

Norm-breaking presidency: exhibit A.

False claims about rigged elections, squeezing money out of government departments for personal gain.

Another day that ends in Y.
COLLINS: The NYT is reporting your legal team is seeking $230 million from your own DOJ now in response to the investigations into you. Is that something you want?

TRUMP: It could be, yeah. I don't even talk to them about it. All I know is they would owe me a lot of money. They rigged the election.

'Date night' afternoon at Six By Nico in Aberdeen.

Exceptional food. Five cocktails might be a bit much for me though.

Sean Spicer is pretty good at judging crowd sizes, right?

Maybe we should ask him how many people were in attendance at today's protests...
October 18, 2025 at 8:00 PM
"To the best of my knowledge" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

(Though may well be entirely accurate - he's not exactly a big history guy).
Trump: "To the best of my knowledge we've never had a president that solved one war."
October 17, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Excellent twist in The Celebrity Traitors: some of the smartest minds in our 'celebrity' world (Stephen Fry, David Olusoga) and the guy that figures out that the producers would make Jonathan Ross a traitor because it would make good TV got his head bashed around on a rugby field for years.
October 16, 2025 at 9:33 PM
Look how bold Wales have started against Belgium, and the reward they get for it: 1-0 up after 8 mins.

Imagine a Scotland side coming out like that, attacking a team, getting the crowd onside early.

You're definitely imagining us under a different manager, right?
October 13, 2025 at 6:58 PM
Pathetic way to end that.

Clarke out.
October 12, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Liam McLeod must be on commission from Steve Clarke, hammering the line that 'the performance doesn't matter'.

The performance, once again, has been stinking.

Call it what it is.
October 12, 2025 at 5:56 PM
The VAR is our player of the match.

No one should be getting more than 5/10 for this performance.
October 12, 2025 at 5:49 PM
Unbelievably, Scott McTominay has bailed out Steve Clarke again.
October 12, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Clarke out.

He's been on borrowed time since Germany absolutely hammered us in Munich.

Thanks for getting us to those two Euros but time to hand over the reins to someone that knows how to get the best out of these players.
