I found a Dick's Sporting Goods gift card from a previous holiday, so I bought a bunch of wool socks to donate to my local non-religious shelter. I'm washing them now and will head to the shelter after work.

We passed out candy and pantry staples tonight before moving inside because of the cold! Had a pretty successful night. Lots of leftovers that will be going to the nearest non-religious food pantry.

Everything feels so sad this week. I'm faced with conflicting emotions as I am ending my nine-year employment with this company. The snow is melting. I got the box today to ship back my laptop and all of my work stuff. I'm excited about moving on, but it's tinged with melancholy.

It's heavily snowing tonight and I keep sneaking out of work to revel in the weather. It's so cold, the snow is more pellet shaped and makes the prettiest sound as it's coming down. I love Minnesota.

5 On top of all of this homeowners insurance drama, I had to replace one of the car batteries recently and will probably need to replace the other. The bitter cold sapped the last life out of them. I just can't seem to get ahead of debt. Every time I make progress, we have another emergency.

4 I paid $750 to get the plumbing issue resolved. It would have been much more expensive if I didn't have people willing to help me. The plumber that I use does a lot of the work that I need on the side so it doesn't get billed at the same rate through the plumbing company.

3 they aren't interested in me as a customer. What am I supposed to do? I can't just leave the house dirty. I thought servpro gave a very reasonable quote. Why do we pay for insurance when they refuse to insure the things we pay them for?

2 insure me or pay my claims. Frustrated, demoralized, and angry, I searched for their review pages. Nothing. They have no Google presence. I guess if you pay enough in this country, you can avoid all responsibility. I tried talking to a new insurer, because I have had a claim in the past 5 years,

1 For new years, we found our basement had a sewage backup. Of course the insurance doesn't want to pay. They have been difficult to reach and make every step 10 times harder than it needs to be. Today they sent me a threatening letter, saying that if I continue to be difficult, they don't have to

Just a little food for thought. The bcbs insurance company is trying to implement a policy where they stop paying for anesthesia if they feel a surgery is "taking longer than normal".

I love how there's always a wait for the doctor, even in telehealth. They insisted I get into my meeting 20 minutes early. And so I'm sat. Waiting for a doctor to tell me I have the flu and hopefully schedule a test or something. 😅🤣
