The Unknowns in Postdrome

Frequency: Studies suggest that more than 80% of people who experience migraines have postdrome symptoms
While the symptoms are well-documented by patients, the underlying causes and specific mechanisms of the postdrome remain one of the least-studied phases of an attack

It’s the time of year that some of us will be going to carol services, concerts and music venues for parties and celebrations. Migraine Ireland got a query recently from a supporter who wanted some tips on going to a concert while living with chronic migraine.

Saturday November 22nd is Aura Awareness Day

For more information on Migraine Aura, see this video on our YouTube channel by the fantastic Dr. Stewart Tepper. It’s easily our most popular video, and it explains Aura so well.

November 20th is Universal Children’s day

Headache is generally not part of migraine in children, until they reach puberty, so the symptoms most children exhibit are stomach ache, nausea, vomiting and sometimes dizziness.

While the traveling medicine show is gone, the "snake oil" industry thrives in the digital age, often targeting vulnerable patients looking for relief from chronic conditions like migraine.

Always consult a GP or a neurologist !!

Kindness is seen in generosity to charity willingness to volunteer and to help out but even something as small as a smile to a person they meet in the supermarket or on the queue in the Post Office can be a huge act of kindness that can be enough to brighten a person’s day and make them feel special

It's Time to Stop Calling Organisations like Migraine Ireland 'Just a Bunch of Do-Gooders'

Pack up your assumptions and perception in your bias toolbox if you still think Migraine Ireland is just a friendly face providing minor comfort. Their work goes far beyond warm thoughts

Migraine in the workplace is an issue for EVERYONE, and it feels like everyone is tip-toeing through a minefield.

For Migraineurs: It's debilitating pain, lost workdays, and fear of judgment

For Non-Migraineurs: It means missed deadlines, shifting workloads, and reduced team productivity

Did you know neuromodulation is a cutting-edge, non-drug option for managing migraine? 💡

It involves using targeted electrical or magnetic stimulation to essentially "reset" or quiet the overactive pain signals in the brain and nerves.
