Intubated, chemically sedated, and immobilized, Ravi developed a massive pulmonary embolism and died handcuffed to a hospital bed. He’d been caught in a system that worked against him at every turn.

The first measles death in the US in a decade -- the tragic, preventable death of a child whose parents chose not to protect them with vaccination -- should spark an immediate nation-wide campaign to ensure all children are protected against preventable diseases. Anything less is unconscionable.

Bob Holman from DC Fire & EMS:
Everywhere we look, we find care inequities in the care we provide.

Up next: the research question:

Will agency or battalion level equity report cards decrease care inequities?

Equity in #EMS is not a niche issue. It’s a central issue to care provision in EMS. The HOPE collaborative is 9 EMS systems brining their data together to address care inequities.

Border wall height increases = increased traumatic injury for those seeking #asylum. Healthcare access is difficult. 83% loss-to-follow-up after ortho injury. Not enough docs/space/time/money to provide adequate healthcare. #NAEMSP2025

Dr. Allison E. Berndtson is giving a powerful presentation on traumatic injuries at the US-Mexico border. The increases in length and height of the border wall creates a catastrophe of injuries. I’ve long been an open borders advocate and this only reinforces that stance. #NAEMSP2025

I knew it difficult to seek US #asylum, no idea how hard it is to request/get to appointment! Using CBP app means: have cell phone and internet, download app, fill it out in English/Spanish, use in specific MX areas, show up right time/place. #barriers to legal entry. @naemsp.bsky.social #NAEMSP2025

A diagnosis of mental health does not mean current impairment.

We need to stop penalizing physicians in licensing for mental health which stops them from seeking treatment.
