My faux stone walls are finally finished. It’s so nice to be able to move onto a new and quicker project. I’ll make a video of the process eventually. The two walls are about 25x8 feet combined and took six months of my spare time. This is such a great feeling. 🥰

This is a gift to any traditional artist who wants it. Feel free to save any use it. Any suggestions how best to share a png file publicly? That’s what I’d like to make next.

This is free to use! For artists of any stage in their journey who might not like making designs. Traditional artists are welcome to it. Please don’t sell it or claim it is your design. I left space for a seal but you could attach an image of your art or add a doodle or write a note. Art on! 🎨🖌️

OMG the 🍎’s & Art show was FUN! I put my prints on sale & there are a handful left at a BIG sale price if anyone is interested.

They’re $10 each until they’re gone or to the end of next week, whichever comes first. I want to start from scratch with my new art printer. 🥰

Today I painted a bookmark to suit the mood and current state of the world:

Do you know the artist who I was inspired by?
September 8, 2025 at 11:04 PM
Let’s play the game again!

Guess the artist these wooden bookmarks were inspired by?

I’m loving painting these.

I’ll be bringing these and many others to the Apples & Art studio tour in eastern Ontario during the last weekend of September at Marlins Orchard. Varnish & tassels still to be added.🥰

Watching Netflix and painting bookmarks. Can you tell what inspired this little batch?

It’ll be fine. It’s fine. 😂 A few areas left, then to start adding depth, painted texture and a faux mortar border last of all.

It’s starting to look like something. Not necessarily anything good but something. 😅 It’s weird but then so am I. 🤷‍♀️

There’s a cicada concert at full volume in my yard.

One of my students asked me if she could see some of my art about a week ago so I told her where she could see some online. Yesterday she asked about this painting and wanted to know what the squirrels were doing. She said it’s her favourite. Can you tell what they’re up to?

7 yrs ago feels so distant. I was sick but thought I was getting better.

I was naive but couldn’t have known how far my health would deteriorate or of the struggles I’d face.

The only power we have is how we react to difficult situations. Celebrate small wins & never give up on what’s important.

Do you believe in signs, as in after a loss in the family?

Or is it a coping mechanism & wishful thinking?

Or.. a change in perception of what’s important mixed with introspection heightened by grief?

I know what I want to let myself believe but I’m an over-thinker.

I haven’t done much today but this sunset seemed worth sharing. I hope you’ve had a great weekend.

Today I picked up a bunch of small slabs of granite, marble etc to use as panels to paint on. They’re heavy but so interesting and I hope I can work with them the way I feel inspired to. For once, I’m not putting any pressure on myself. This is meant as a fun experiment.

Hiking has been my lifeline since my dad passed away earlier this month. Some people go to church for comfort but for me, nature is where I find emotional and spiritual relief.
July 25, 2025 at 4:58 AM
We lost my dad today. He took a part of us with him.

My family was there but I wasn’t which will hurt for the rest of my days.

I loved him with all of my heart. I am who I am because of the values he taught me.

I don’t feel equipped to deal with a world without him.

We will meet again pappa.

We went on a little hike before work. Jasper appreciated the air conditioning afterwards and positioned himself in front of the vent. It was so nice to get out before the rain starts.

This painting was inspired by the bonds of sisters who share a passion and who create memories together to last a lifetime. A love for horses is sweeter when shared.

This wouldn’t be the same egret, right? I never usually see them here but it was in the exact same place where I saw one about a month ago. Such a lovely pre-sunset hike today.

Want to help settle a dispute? My husband says his corn snake is lavender but I think it’s brown and beige which he argues by telling me, a visual artist, that I’m colourblind. Am I?

I like purple so I’d prefer it but I don’t see purple pigment. We can’t settle on a name for her. Any suggestions?

Today an adult ESL student asked to see my art so I showed her briefly. It was so nice that she cared to ask.

One question I get a lot is “what did you do last weekend?” and my answer is usually that I worked on my wall which feels odd to say.

Guess what I’m doing tonight? 😂

Wow the difference of a 5 minute drive. Torrential downpour VS a dry driveway when I gave up on hiking and went home. The end of the storm was fairly impressive. You may want to hunker down if you’re in upstate NY. It just left Eastern Ontario and it was not predicted.

Happy Canada Day! Apparently this is what 30% chance of less than 1mm of rain looks like. Is there a drive-through hiking option? 😂
