Quentin spun her around as he kissed her. He was elated. Nothing could touch him. Was this love? Q thought so. She had accepted despite the dangers with his father. That meant more than words could say. He didn't care if anyone gawked, let them.
The surprise nearly knocked the breath from her lungs, and a soft laugh escaped before his mouth found hers. She instantly wrapped her arms around him, returning the kiss with joy. He never failed to catch her off guard in the best ways.
This was bold. The old Quentin wouldn't have ever... Biting his self doubt, he threw away his insecurities for once. Once he read the paper and seeing the yea box checked off, he grinned and rushed over. He picked her off the ground and kissed her deeply.

She’s practically glowing, biting back a sound of excitement. Reaching into her purse, she pulls out her eyeliner, ticks the “yes” box, and hands it back, grinning from ear to ear.

Her lashes fluttered as her smile widened. She hadn’t felt this genuinely happy in what felt like ages.
“I see you, Q. Even when you try to hide, I still do.” She reached out gently, brushing a strand of hair from his face. "I learn a lot from you..."

"You make me happy," she admitted without hesitation, cheeks flushing again...damn it. "You make me laugh. It’s just… easy being around you, you know? I might not understand all the magic spells or whatever book or game you’re into, but… I like hearing about it."
"Are you happy around me?" Quentin couldn't help but to ask. He knew the feeling. His life with his father was not all sunshine and happiness. There were days he wished it would all just stop. "Sometimes it takes someone really understanding. I haven't met anyone until now that has."

"Really? Because I never thought being a nerd qualified as being sexy." Quentin wished, but hell if Sheldon Cooper could get a girl. His eyes went to her instantly. He could feel his cheeks heat up. "I think that's everyone's goal or at least a sane person."
"Honestly, I find that way more attractive than guys rattling off their list of assets and crap," she snorted. "I want a best friend in a partner...." she said, then paused in horror. "Wait, you didn't hear me say that..." she cleared her throat.
"You'd think so. Only a certain blonde one." Quentin smiled proudly as she bumped him. "Not too many are impressed with card tricks."

"I don’t think you’re childish at all. People might see me as feeble or even childish sometimes because I’m always positive and cheerful, but that’s not the full picture. There’s a lot I keep hidden. I am anything but happy..." she said with a sad smile.
"Maybe." He smiled at that thought. "Do I? Some would call me childish. Not you. You seem to get me more than most." Quentin admitted. "I had a feeling there is and was more of your story." Squeezing her lightly, he shook his head. "It's the truth."
