Heartbroken by the atrocities being carried out in Palestine. I'm a Volunteer, Free spirit, avid reader, athletics freak, believe in fair play, a socialist Green Party Member. Poetry is my constant solace. On X under same name.
Why do we never learn from history ? 😭

The Judicial Review regarding the lawfulness of the proscription of Palestine Action was due to start today. It was postponed due to a late minute removal of the Judge originally due to hear the case. I just despair we don't have a Government in the UK we have an authoritarian regime 😭
Removal of judge in Palestine Action ban legal challenge ‘deeply concerning’... so it looks like the classic British establishment stitch-up is underway. "This raises serious questions around the lack of impartiality and transparency in our judicial system" www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Unusual last-minute change means panel of three will now hear case rather than Mr Justice Chamberlain

What ceasefire? 😭
Last night in Nasser Hospital, Gaza: 3 dead on arrival. One small girl with a head injury died after admission. Another small girl with 25 holes in her bowel. A young woman paralysed from the waist down. This is what an Israeli ceasefire looks like

Photo by Mike Bettney it's quite scary I didn't realise how many officers were surrounding me. This looks like something out of a Police state. I held a paper sign, in the rain, sitting quietly in a camping chair. An act of peaceful protest has me banned from Leeds City Centre. No-one voted for this

Let me post a good news story for a change I'm reliant on public transport so when I lost my discount metro card it was a bit of a blow. I didn't think I would get it back, but some lovely person handed it in. ❤️ Thanks Catherine at Northern Rail I have collected it from Skipton Train Station 🤗

Dortman Square - Leeds I Oppose Genocide peaceful protest, part of a wave of nationwide protests starting today

Draconian protest laws continue. I am now banned from Leeds City Centre not able to go to peaceful pro Palestinian protests & vigils which I've been attending every week for over two years. Excessive & unnecessary. The proscription of Palestine Action interferes with our rights to peaceful protest.

Really didn't want to be sitting again but we have to keep Gaza at the top of the Political agenda and as we won't get fair trials it would seem, I feel I have nothing more to lose. Free Palestine .🇵🇸

Met Peter Oborne, well respected journalist, author and broadcaster tonight at a Stop the War coalition event and book signing. Unapologetically Conservative probably with little c but a thoroughly charming & decent man. Apparently I'm his second favourite terrorist my friend Dru being his first 🤣

Earlier in the year we raised funds via a sponsored walk to bring 8 young Palestinians to the UK for a visit, they will be hosted in Bradford on Saturday 22 November. Support this event if you can ❤️

Today we joined forces with climate activists for a joint march to save our planet and Gaza. One thing the MSM never mentions is Ecocide the damage caused to the environment, the poisoning of soil, water, air as a result of constant wars and bombardments. Always money for war, never for peace😭

Where are the Christians in the West speaking out against occupation? Would recommend you reading Rev. Dr Munther Isaac's book The Other Side of the Wall

Palestinian Christian Pastor Explains the Israeli Occupation

"We suffer from restrictions, very limited opportunities, Betlehem is now dead"

Not radical, just common sense
People fleeing war and persecution are ready and able to contribute to our society.

The problem is... they're not allowed.

Rather than shipping them off to army barracks all over the country, it's time to let asylum seekers work.

Hope for the future. This is what leadership looks like. Its so good to see the Greens getting a fairer share of air time on MSM to discuss what they stand for and their policies. This is why the Greens membership continues to rise as well as their standing in the polls. @zackpolanski.bsky.social

Met my friends Charithra & Simon in Sheffield today, good food, good company, took the tram to the Kelham Island museum celebrating all things steel, visited the cathedral listening to live ethereal music and saw a drawing of an actual Middle Eastern Jesus at the last supper ❤️

Would you trust your human rights with Reform or Conservatives who want us to withdraw from this convention? I wouldn't.
75 years ago, the European Convention on Human Rights was signed.

It’s why victims can seek justice, why people in care are treated with dignity, and why freedoms are balanced fairly.

It quietly keeps us all safe and free every day.
